I would expect that the two games to watch this weekend will be the Ithaca vs. Corning game and the SV vs. Oneonta. SHould be good ones

How is it Oneonta gets to play on their home field for the finals still? Thought the games were supposed to be on neutral sites for the finals

This question has been asked a number of times. Along with this:

-Why is the "home field" of section IV located in Oneonta when the conference is based out of Binghamton? Every year, Section IV is matched up with section 9 or section 1 in states. Do they realize that Section 9 is actually CLOSER to Oneonta than many of the Section IV schools?

Especially this year when the AA winner will be either Ithaca or Corning a solid two hour drive to Oneonta for either of them. I would hope if Ithaca won Sect 4 would be smart enough to play the AA playdown game at TC3 or Elmira on a nice turf facility to actually give us a home advantage for once.

Here's the worst part. They CANNOT change the game location. Section IV has a contract with the HOF saying that the games MUST be played there. Yes...the same HOF that is CLOSED DOWN!!

The whole thing is a joke, we've had teams sitting around for over a for a week and they still don't know game times for Saturday. Why didn't they play today or tomorrow at a closer site so the teams could be ready for play in games that will happen on Tuesday? Even if they couldn't get a closer site they should have been playing already to allow winners to prep for the next round. Whoever is running Section 4 soccer needs to get with it and help our teams not hurt their chances.

Only an idiot would have signed a contract to play at the fields as everyone in soccer knew the HoF was getting ready to close a few years back. Its why the state pulled the Final Four from there, total waste of money to have Binghamton/Ithaca/Elmira area teams playing that far away for "local" finals.

The filed locations have nothing to do when teams play....that is set up byt he sectin and the state so all 11 sections are on the same time table....and nobody has a far or unfair advantage.

Whats everyone's thoughts on Ithica v Corning and Vestal v ME? Vestal was looking strong there with mac but since they lost him the team has had a harsh fall to some teams they should have won against. i feel like ME will give them a run for their money in a good game with their returning GK . Depending on which team goes in ready for a physical and mentally prepared game between Ithica and Corning will determine the outcome. Both teams have had some amazing games against amazing teams but it all comes down to which one wants to drive the ball in the net more.

The state pulled it because of bid and persons with strong soccer political ties got his way and got moved to Middletow. Which if you have been there is not bad but still not as good as HOF....The true beauty of HOF having state tourney is 4 beautiful grass fields all in one location which mean fans, parents and most important tha dozens of college coaches there recruiting don't have to move from facility to facility to see prospective players.

You are so full of crap, don't make up a story to try and make sense of our leadership dropping the ball. Section 3 (Syracuse) isn't even playing their finals until next week, there is no set time schedule. The reason we don't have game times for the teams is Sect 4 has awful management of its soccer, they are blind to what is better for our teams and care about only what makes it easier for them.

There is no true beauty to having the HoF fields host the state finals any longer. The place is a dump for basic needs any longer- no locker room availability or safe areas for fans in case of storms. The scoreboards have been broken for years and serve no value any longer since they don't work. The concession area has been closed since they lost the actual HoF and it doesn't host tourneys all summer anymore. The seating at the fields is very limited and doesn't come close to what it looks like at the Girls Final Four at Cortland. There are very few college coaches who attend the final 4 now, especially with the new academy rules for players and the true top players not playing HS ball I will bet its less than ever. That doesn't even mention that the fields are getting worse every year since the county doesn't put nearly enough time or money into the upkeep of the facility that it needs to. I watched the ME-JC game last year and the field they were on was torn up from the game before it badly and it took a lot away from the game. Both coaches had commented that they wished the game had been on turf like they had both played on all season (JC was at the dome last year with the flood closing Green Field).

Was at the Hall fields yesterday for the Marathon and Elmira ND games and the fields are in awful condition. The IAC title games at TC3 were so much more pleasant to watch and you got to see much better soccer. What I saw yesterday was a game that was dictated by the fields and not the skill level of the teams/players. Was not at all surprised to hear that they are having to cancel and move games off of the site. Too many people forget that the Hall of Fame isn't there anymore and these fields are not being taken care of they way the used to be, they once were a great thing but anymore they are getting rundown with huge areas that lack grass and when rain hits it just becomes a mud pit.
