Guest Guest
Playing in the Sectional Semis in A is hardly a success story in this section my man. However, you are correct. Not an easy place to coach and he does a great job with his kids putting a respectable product on the field every year. If there is one program Binghamton needs to keep it is the soccer program because they represent their school well and Coach Smith does a nice job. Typical BCV trash bagging on kids instead of promoting the world's game. Actually that year they were both "AA" schools. Vestal has just recently gone to a "A" school in 2012. It is just a shame they don't have kids with strong soccer skills.
Guest Guest
HHDS - 3 Corning - 1 -this score suprised me a bit. i didn't think hhds had much this season. the paper shows corning with the better stats. Ithaca - 3 U-E - 2 (OT) -No suprise here, only that it went to OT. ue lost alot from last season Elmira - 2 Vestal - 1 -id like to say this is a major upset but these two team have played each other close for a while with the exception of a few games. combined program in elmira with a good coach shoud be successful Owego - 5 Seton - 2 -predictable M-E - 3 Binghamton - 0 -this game wasn't even as close as the score indicates. bingo had 1 shot SV - 2 JC - 1 -sus valleys year possible. not sure what jc has but they haven't been a good team in a few years
Guest Guest
That goalie for Bingo played great. He had something like 25 saves. Not bad for a football kid that decided to switch gears this year. Too bad that he will have shell shock on no time with that defense.

Guest Guest
Elmira again looks to be strong this fall. They seem to have a few supporting players to compliment Alex, and so long as he can keep his cool, they could be very, very good. My understanding is that they have the former STAC West All Star GK from 2010 in goal. He played field last year after the merger of the two schools. Corning beats probably the weakest Binghamton team in the last decade. Someone posted they were not surprised by Corning vs. Horseheads score. Theoretically, Corning should have been one of the top teams in the conference. They played everyone close last year with a highly inexperienced team, and returned almost all of their impact players. Was the Horseheads score an aberrition, or was tonight's score indicative of playing against a very poor squad? Only time will tell. Good luck gents. Guest Guest
Sorry to the kid who came up with that post on the oneonta upset. Nobody gives a DELETED. Windsor is horrible and doesnt deserve to be brought up. Just like nobody gives a DELETED about Elmira or any team that plays out west that hasn't won anything ever in soccer. If you are not from Oneonta, Vestal, or Owego than shut your face and post something productive you booshdag.

Guest Guest
Well almost a month into the season, two weeks worth of games and some things look pretty clear. The STAC Division races look to be non-races this year unless Ithaca can push Elmira. UE, ME and Bing don't look to be able to push Vetsal. Oneonta as always could sleepwalk and win the pitiful East. Looks like Sus Valley has the Central this year unless Rood melts down under the constant double teams he is seeing. Setionals would be the same AA-Elmira unless Ithaca steps up A- Vestal without a real challenge from ME B- Oneonta and SV again like last year

That makes them the best of the worst. This area isn't all that great. If you are going to be putting down the Binghamtons of the world than you should at least play an important game in the state first. Winning the section in A is hardly an accomplishment. Winning the STAC isn't much more.

If they win a division congratulate them don't talk down to them, If they win Stac congratulate them, If the win sectionals again congratulate them. If they make it to states root for them as they are from Section 4. Instead of spending your time being negative, be positive and enjoy the game. If not stay at home and stop trying to coach and gripe from the sidelines. We have enough of that already.

Then why do we ridicule the Binghamtons, Norwichs, and Windsors of the world?? I love how EFA fans are now pro STAC instead of "those teams suck" Nice flip flop.
