BinghamtonBill
Many around the Southern Tier are CELEBRATING tonight, after it has been CONFIRMED... YankeeDoodle
Given her age, are you sure she is not simply retiring? Has any official announcement been made of her new title, position or responsibilities if she is still remaining with the station? If it means getting her off the air, I say good riddance. If you look in the dictionary under the term "chewing the scenery", you'd find her picture. There is no reason for overacting - or acting at all - when reporting a story. I wonder if she inserts instructions in her TelePrompter like "look serious", "look concerned", "raise eyebrows", "pout", etc.
PeteMoss
She is far from the Social Security retirement age.

YankeeDoodle
She is far from the Social Security retirement age. She is? Man - reminds me of the old line that Minnie Pearl used to say: "A young man just paid me the nicest compliment. He said I looked like the first breath of spring. "Well - those weren't his exact words. What he said was that I looked like the end of a long, hard winter."

YankeeDoodle
Late 40s. Holy cow. I thought she had been around a lot longer than that, and she sure definitely looks older than she is. I just checked LinkedIn to see if she had a listing ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/candace-chapman-9ba63b14 ) in addition to her WBNG bio which I only now just looked at ( http://www.wbng.com/about/personalities/100877144.html ). She came to WBNG in 1994, and started at an Oklahoma station in 1991. That means she's been in the industry for 25 years.

27 Time World Champions
Close... 48. Yowza! The folks on the news always look better and younger in person, but If you had said she was 58, I wouldn't have blinked an eye.
guest11
Patti Schwartz should apply. Between her mustache and no teeth, she would look great in high-def.

Silverfox1
I watched Candace Chapman every evening at 6:00 o'clock and thought she was excellent in reporting the news in the Broome County area. Very professional and knowledgeable. Enjoyable to watch and listen to.
coldcomfort
Why are you all fixated on her age? Maybe she's been shrewd with investments and can AFFORD to retire before 50. Jealous?

BubbaGump
Who gives a rats ass if she retired or got the sack? You definitely can tell this is a small town when the BC Voice is turned into a gossip column. With her talent maybe she's just moving on to a warmer more friendly climate? Just saying. ThelmaHarper
Candace is terrible. The facial contortions she makes when reading the news make me sea sick. It looks like she's trying to pass a ton of bricks through her bowels.
BubbaGump
Ok. Who the hell has the correct answer to this, I don't deal with her myself, I would rather watch Chita Johnson do the morning weather.

Bluestar
Who cares.....Her sister was a better broadcaster than her and was a whole helluva lot better looking too. Think she's @ TWC News.

The Wanker
I could never figure out why she didn't leave town a few decades ago. Binghamton is where TV anchors stay to die. What happened that she didn't get a better job offer from a larger market a long time ago?
DanCooper
Maybe it was ageism, but I'd rather watch Caroline anyway.
