Given her age, are you sure she is not simply retiring? Has any official announcement been made of her new title, position or responsibilities if she is still remaining with the station?

If it means getting her off the air, I say good riddance. If you look in the dictionary under the term "chewing the scenery", you'd find her picture. There is no reason for overacting - or acting at all - when reporting a story.

I wonder if she inserts instructions in her TelePrompter like "look serious", "look concerned", "raise eyebrows", "pout", etc.

She is far from the Social Security retirement age.

She is? Man - reminds me of the old line that Minnie Pearl used to say:

"A young man just paid me the nicest compliment. He said I looked like the first breath of spring.

"Well - those weren't his exact words. What he said was that I looked like the end of a long, hard winter."

Late 40s.

Late 40s.

Holy cow. I thought she had been around a lot longer than that, and she sure definitely looks older than she is.

I just checked LinkedIn to see if she had a listing ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/candace-chapman-9ba63b14 ) in addition to her WBNG bio which I only now just looked at ( http://www.wbng.com/about/personalities/100877144.html ). She came to WBNG in 1994, and started at an Oklahoma station in 1991. That means she's been in the industry for 25 years.

22+25 = 47
