There was an federal arrest of the ringleader of a pedophile ring in Bingo yesterday and nothing here? C'mon gang... BTW, federal prosecution rate is greater than 97% when a case is brought, this dude is toast. Not to mention that it was an indictment from Michigan that followed him half way across the country. As part of an ongoing child pornography investigation, FBI agents on October 23, 2017, charged Christian Maire after executing a search warrant at his Hillcrest Ave residence in Binghamton. Revealed in a federal complaint filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan is a network of men who used chat rooms and lied about their age to get 15-to-17-year-old teenagers to undress, masturbate or take part in other kinds of sexually explicit activity. The "talkers" were in charge of talking to the girls to get them to engage in sexual activity. "Hunters" were in charge of luring the girls to the chat room and alerting others to let them know that the minors were there. The "loopers" would pretend to be the teenagers in the chat room, using videos of other teens and playing them for the targets, acting like it was them in real time. The FBI has identified more than 50 victims and say dozens more have yet to be identified. Maire is charged with the following felonies: producing, attempting to produce child pornography, conspiracy to receive child pornography; conspiracy with intent to view child pornography, participation in a child exploitation enterprise, along with coercion and enticement of a minor. Other articles make it pretty clear he was arrested for acting as a "hunter" and for organizing the whole thing for four to five years. Another participant is cooperating with the Feds, and they've identified dozens of victims. He also confessed to viewing child pornography. To call him "screwed" is to call Francisco Franco "dead". And what is accepted in one country is different from another. Who determines the "age of consent?" Nature seems to have set it at about age 13 (and dropping thanks possibly to cattle steroids and feed with hormones). Who is to say what will be acceptable 50 or 100 years from now? That said five years of internet traffic should contain overwhelming evidence. That is unless a lawyer can prove it was improperly collected and, or wording of the law can be twisted and stretched enough to create a loop hole. If he pleads down on a lesser charge and only gets a few years it won't matter. Child molesters are not tolerated very well by many prisoners. At times a prison population has a different conception of "justice", and no problem enforcing it. Does anyone know how and when the investigation began?
