Broome DA Candidate Paul Battisti Owes IRS More Than $86K

Recommended Posts

Cornwell has done an excellent job as DA.  Even if Korchak wasn't the most qualified, he should be elected, because of all the good work Cornwell has done.  They attacked the heroin epidemic and didn't give any elected officials, or their kids, or relatives a free pass.  They did more in 4 years than Mollen did in 20+.

Look at this video from Mollen's 2015 campaign.  Funny, all those attorneys, including Paul Battisti said Cornwell shouldn't be elected because he owned a few thousands in taxes.  Battisti owes $86,000!  Where are those attorneys now?  These are the same people behind Battisti's current campaign for DA.  Tom Jackson, Benjamin Bergman, Chris Brown, Michael Garzo, and of course, Paul Battisti.

First 3 minutes of the video says it all! "We feel the District Attorney of Broome County should not have unsatisfied tax liens pending."

Monkey Man:  this very video appeared tonight on Fox 40 news. Here's a link to their story:  http://www.wicz.com/story/39945232/2015-video-shows-paul-battisti-against-candidates-owing-back-taxes-now-he-is-running-for-da-while-owing-86k-to-irs

They mention the hypocrite Pail Battisti for being part of this attack on Cornwell, and now owing TEN TIMES the taxes Cornwell owed, as he runs for District Attorney.

Battisti would not come on camera and explain his hypocrisy.

They also mention how Battisti deposited $50,000 into his campaign account, rather than pay his taxes.

Also the spokesman at this news conference, Thomas Jackson, of Jackson Bergman Law Firm, would not return Fox 40's request for comment.

How could anyone who knows Paul in any capacity, including Paul, possibly think this was a good idea? Putting aside what a disaster he'd be as District Attorney.

The guy's got a list of people who'd be happy to see him humiliated like this as long as a CVS receipt. I'm going to just go make some popcorn while WICZ figures out what to do with all the other tip emails they're probably receiving.

This is just plain old hypocrisy at it's finest!

Perhaps Mr. Jackson should put down the box of doughnuts, round up all of his "attorney" buddies that are in the video, and re-enact this little puppet show, and wherever he uses the name Cornwell, replace it with Battisti.

And maybe, just maybe, we can get a statement from each and every one of those "attorney's" present on this video condemning Mr. Battisti for his tax issues.

H..Y..P..O..C..R..I..T..E..S!!

Hate to say it, but I actually know a few of them and thought they had SOME integrity. So much for that.

They should all be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves.

So, Mr. Battisti, that "swooshing" sound you hear is your reputation going down the proverbial toilet.

Battisti is and has been personal counsel to Joe Zikuski and the Zikuski family.

A vote for Battisti is a vote to give the keys to the DA's office to Joe Zikuski.

Battisti is the biggest joke of an attorney in Binghamton. He’s afraid to go to trial. He wastes everyone’s time... police, witnesses, DA, judge. He neve has any intention of going to trial, but strings his clients along until the last minute.

Aside from his tax problems, there’s a lot in his personal life he should be worried about. There’s a young lady related to the Zikuskis, who worked for Battisti’s limo business, who Mrs. Battisti had fired. If that vehicle is a rockin, don’t go a knockin...

There are a bunch of things that could be said here, but there's no way in hell Battisti is remotely fit for this office, even without looking at who his friends are. I've dealt with him in a few situations and used to give him the benefit of the doubt on screwing up the little things because he's too "busy", but over time, I've encountered too many people who all tell the same story and realize what the deal is. A while back, a friend went looking for recommendations for a lawyer on social media, and many of the responses were simply "not Battisti". Everybody finds out what a mess he is eventually, usually too late.

See McIntyre v. Battisti, a sad pro se action filed by an inmate who alleged that Battisti had thrown his defense because McIntyre hadn't paid his past due legal fees yet. It's interesting that whenever he accumulates a few very bad reviews on Google, several more eventually show up all at once singing his praises, as if they were put up to it. Ed Hickey had a real whopper alleging that Battisti lied to him about his own plea deal that he later toned down, but you can tell he's still bitter in the comments he's been leaving on WICZ's Facebook the last couple of days.

Any business can end up with an unhappy customer, especially a law firm, but when you compare it to what people are saying about Jackson Bergman, it's clear that Battisti is down closer to the Ron Benjamin end of the spectrum.

Battisti is scum.  He ruined the lives of several women he's had affairs with.  Even his scumbag father gets involved in Paul's extramarital affairs, convincing the women Paul really loves them (while he's still married). He's only with the current wife (Christine Hanyon Battisti) because she inherited $500,000.

Word is that if Paul Battisti is elected Zikuski is going to retire from the BPD and become the Chief Investigator at the District Attorneys office. If you saw the news conference where Battisti announced his candidacy Zikuski was standing right behind him.  If this is true it is certainly one of the many good reasons Paul Battisti should not be the District Attorney.

Yes.  In fact, Lisa Zikuski already left BPD for a job with the state, expecting her husband to retire soon. Joe Zikuski has been offered a job by Battisti.

Talking about local attorneys with money problems Ronald Benjamin was served with a foreclosure action on his 126 riverside drive property last week for failing to make a single payment on a 405K debt to M&T Bank. The local press rolled out an article about him a couple months back for having a 250K tax lien by the irs
