(It's also not news, the change was announced in July.) What they're saying is to replace the COVID-only PCR with a multi-virus test to save time and better treat patients during the flu season by identifying influenza at the same time they rule out COVID. That's what "multiplex" means here - checking for multiple things at once, not just one. ginger 0 Report post Posted April 10 Omg people! If you are sick and have to go out, please put a mask back on. I stopped for coffee on my way home. This 20 something has the death rattle, no mask, yes she coughed in her sleeve but the sniffling and crackles. I had a kn95 on but still. .lol I actually tried to hold my breath when I stepped up to the counter but I couldn't NOT greet the fellow waiting on me. She was really sick..poor thing.
