With everything on hold, WHY hasn't the (COUNTY) government but a hold on our Taxes that will be due? Many struggling to pay they Taxes from check to check while struggling to keep food on the tables for their families. How irresponsible to make struggling residents of Broome County to pay their Taxes during this serious time when most are out of work not knowing when they will be going back to work. This is a very serious issue RIGHT NOW!!!!! Well Jason????!!!!!!

Think about it Schools are closed maybe till the end of May or even June or even till the end of the year.

Maybe the Gov. C should step in because Jason Garnar doesn't think of this important issue while residents are NOT WORKING with our SCHOOLS CLOSED.

I will be calling Bob show tomorrow to bring up this issue.

My question is are all the teachers, vice principals, principals and superintendents being paid for staying at home ?  They should be filing for unemployment like everyone else. It is apparent the school year is over. This would be the perfect opportunity to consolidate many of the administrative jobs, Governor Cuomo already indicated school districts are going to face difficult times because state aid will be cut. No revenue , no money.

As far as Jason Garnar is concerned it is painful to watch his news briefings. Wait until things get bad in Broome County and sadly it is likely it will, perhaps Rich David should take over at least he has taken some type of meaningful action.

Mother complaining about all the work that teachers are sending home for their children to do.

If they are doing their job then yes they should be getting paid. If they are using this as an extended vacation then they don't need to collect unemployment, they need to be fired.

Just because you are not in the same physical building doesn't mean you can't teach (or learn). There are whole colleges built around the concept of distance learning. Heck, even SUNY does it. So, take your lesson plans, adapt them to 'distance learning', have the schools set up a schedule and have at it. Of course that would require some leadership and parents to inconvenience their kids to wake up before 3pm so that's the end of that pipe dream.
