Huge lines to early vote today in Broome County. Good sign for Republicans?

If you are a "short seller" you would not be happy when the market goes up.  But how many people who live on Main Street are short sellers?

Don't sweat it Binghamtonian. Most people who throw phrases such as "communist", "socialist" and "fascist" around like throwing candy at a parade have never cracked a book on political or social philosophy. Water off a duck's back.

You are so intellectually superior to many people here, why do you grace us with your presence?

Reminds me of the nephew or niece that you see at Thanksgiving who just finished their first semester away at school that took a few Poly Sci classes and now is an expert on the topic.

And a lot here are like that drunk uncle at Thanksgiving who thinks he knows everything, but is living 50 years in the past and actually knows very little.

I read some people waited as long as three hours yesterday. I’m overweight and don’t think I can stand for more than 20 minutes.

Do you have an absentee ballot to turn in? If so they’ll move you to the front.

There are something like 111 polling locations in Broome County.  Squashing those people who want to vote into 4 locations will cause excessive waiting times.

The problem with early voting is that it was conceived to provide an option for the handful of people who genuinely can't vote on Election Day. That's why there are only four polling places.

People got it into their heads that should all show up on the first day, regardless of need, then complain that the lines are long.

JFK, by today's standards, would make Rush Limbaugh look like Bernie Sanders. It's pretty tragic what has become of that political party.

The lines are still long, took a walk by the library a little while ago and asked one person how long they were waiting, they were still outside and said they were there about an hour and 20 minutes so far.

No Biden supporter would wait for 2 hours to cast a vote.

Many will, and already have. I waited 1 hour 45 min to case my vote for Biden, under the Working Families Party as a little FU to Cuomo.

Drove by the Endicott library earlier this afternoon. The line was out the door, through the parking lot, and up the street almost to the school on the corner - WOW!

More people in one place in long lines waiting together for extended periods of time? Makes perfect sense to me.

The folks don’t know if they’ll be sick next week. This election is too important to wait my dude!

I definitely understand why people are excited, comment is aimed more at the people thinking the lines are a voter suppression conspiracy.

Long lines are a good sign to me. I would’ve waited but I could be on a respirator next week.

The Broome Board of election has a track record of incompetency.  Look at some of the people who have worked there... DEBBIE PRESTON.  DEBRA BUTLER.  and that geek running for county executive who stocks shelves at the liquor store.

If you time it right, chances are you’ll wait less than a half hour. I went tonight after dinner and from the minute I got in line, I was back in my car in less than 20 minutes.
