An illegal immigrant is accused of using fraudulent credit cards to buy huge amounts of diesel fuel that he pumped into a 400-gallon hidden tank in the rear of his pickup truck. 31-year-old Eric Machet Riscart, who says he is a Cuban citizen who entered the United States through Mexico, was arrested after a 2-month investigation.

Under bail reform rules, Riscart, who has ties in Miami and New Jersey, was released on his own recognizance.

D.C. Democrats Call for Federal Response to Abbott's Migrant Buses

According to the Washington Examiner, more than 150 buses traveling from Texas and Arizona have brought almost 6,000 migrants to Washington, D.C., in three months. Though the operation has cost both border states millions of dollars, including $6.8 million in Texas to date, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, said it's achieving the desired results.

Echoing what border state governors and mayors have been saying for over a year, Washington politicians are apparently saying they can't handle the volume of people being released into their communities.

Biden administration's own migrant flights receive renewed scrutiny

The Biden administration spent months flying immigrants to a suburban airport outside New York City despite concerns from some locals about the influx of children and young adults.

Federal officials sent more than 2,000 immigrants to Westchester County and nearby areas between June and October of last year, prompting questions even from Democratic lawmakers.

Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY) complained that the Biden administration was withholding information about the flights, which reportedly occurred largely at night and in secret.

Migrants' refusal to leave New York hotel met with outrage

 More than 100 migrants that had been staying at a posh Midtown hotel refused to relocate to a shelter set up by Mayor Eric Adams and instead set up an encampment on the street.

Reportedly migrants were having sex in hallways of the Row, one of New York City's best-known hotels and drinking alcohol in the lobby. Trash bags full of untouched sandwiches provided for the migrants were discovered there after the migrants used unsafe cooking means to make their own food in their hotel rooms.

Migrants' refusal to leave the New York hotel came as reports surfaced of increased crossings at the northern border, particularly in the section between Plattsburgh, New York and Pittsburg, New Hampshire.
