thomas
A couple of questions : how many trees will be cut? How many birds will be killed including bald eagles? These turbines will be about 700 feet tall. 3 times the height of the State Office Building. And this is good for the environment? Where are these turbines manufactured? China? "Northland Power of Toronto has announced tree clearing is scheduled to begin around February 8 for 5,662 acres. In addition to 26 wind turbines, the project will include 13 miles of access roads, 36 miles of high-voltage power lines and two meteorological towers."Read More: Tree Clearing to Start for Broome County Wind Farm Project | https://wnbf.com/tree-clearing-to-start-for-broome-county-wind-farm-project/?utm_source=tsmclip&utm_medium=referral

thomas
Both are bad in the wrong places. Like populated NY. And where birds fly. And trees grow. A typical 1,000-megawatt nuclear facility in the United States needs a little more than 1 square mile to operate. NEI says wind farms require 360 times more land area to produce the same amount of electricity and solar photovoltaic plants require 75 times more space. So in terms of footprint it is a no brainer. thomas
Two wind turbines as seen from Route 17 in the town of Sanford. (Photo: Bob Joseph/WNBF News) Some people who live near the turbines of a recently-constructed wind farm east of Binghamton are already fed up with the noise generated by the facility. Patrice VanSlyke said she's lived in Sanford for about 50 years. She said when the turbines are operating, she hears a constant "humming" noise. The turbine blades also can create a "whooshing" sound when they are spinning rapidly. 2pelo Honey
I have friends who own property out there. To say they’re not happy is the understatement of the year.
