BCVoice
BCVoice has learned disgraced District Attorney Michael Korchak was met by several protestors at the County Legislature Public Safety Zoom meeting today. Legislators demanded to know what the hell happened with the traffic diversion program, and why Korchak provided no financial reporting, and let the program expire. Now the county legislature needs to clean up Korchak’s mess. Legislators also demanded to know why Korchak did not communicate with the courts before temporarily suspending the program. Now town and village justices have to clean up Korchak’s mess. We are working to obtain photos and audio of the meeting, and expect to update this post soon. broome county employee
Talk around the county building is Mark Loughran (the number 2 attorney in the office) and Pamela Memos (the financial services manager) are playing Korchak like a fiddle. They are both near retirement, and convinced Korchak to give them both big raises. Your pension is calculated by your three highest salary years. So they both needed their big raises before Korchak has to run for re-election. Now they are both the center of the controversy at the DA's office. And when Korchak has to run for re-election, and defend all the horrible things Loughran and Memos have done, they will be ready for retirement. Pio Renteria
DA KORCHAK IS CORRUPT AND MUST RESIGN! The legislator that was speaking laid out the case to impeach Korchak. Not because of politics, but because the DA failed the people and the legislature. The lawmakers were put into a position that they had to approve the program or cost Broome taxpayers millions of dollars. The program should have been approved, and would have been approved last year if the DA did his job properly, but DA Korchak took advantage of them and the situation . This is totally unforgivable. I would like to thank the legislature for being transparent and respectful. Shame on you Korchak. Shame on you.
SU75
I didn't see the meeting, but heard Korchak had to be corrected a few times by the Clerk and Chairman of the Legislature for lying. That obviously is not good, when the District Attorney is caught lying. I would like to introduce a resolution to cut the salaries of Korchak, Loughran and Memos by 50% for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. When a new DA is elected and takes office in January 2024, the salaries can go back to normal. That would help recoup some of the revenue lost by this embarrassing failure by the Korchak administration.

GOP Insider
Korchak will officially join the Democratic Party by the end of the year. That’s three different political parties in three years. Republican, Libertarian, Democrat. Korchak is not stable. And the liberals in the Democratic Party will never support him.
F. Lee Bailey
Watching the video of the meeting it was painful to see Legislator Susan Ryan (Democrat) try to defend Korchak. It’s important to note, her son did an internship for Korchak. Also, Korchak never answered the question on the legality of operating the program without authorization under the law. This is a local law, not a resolution. Acting outside the law is criminal.
92CorruptCourtStreet
Remember when Korchak campaigned and stressed how it’s important as a District Attorney to continue to educate new attorneys in the office, well it seems like there was no education for the Two Prosceutors who dropped the recent child murder case last week. Korchak needs to hit the road ASAP

That case should have been prosecuted by one senior attorney (20+ years experience) along with a younger attorney as his second chair. That is how young prosecutors learn. You don’t throw two young kids in to prosecutor a murder trial.

Mystic Stan
An intern from West Middle School could run the office better than Korchak. I’m sick and tired of him, and he just got elected. I’ve never donated to a campaign before, but I will give the maximum donation to his opponents campaign.
Gentleman Ned
I pretty sure that if I ever took hundreds of thousands of dollars ILLEGALLY that I'd be in jail. Thats where the DA should be.
Male Nurse
Mr. Korchak should meet with his financial manager at least once a week, if not every day. So he cannot pass all the blame onto her. Having said that, she should be fired (and to think, she just got a big raise... during the pandemic) and Korchak should not be re-elected. Back the Blue
Pam Memos used to work at the Sheriff’s office, where they did all kinds of things that were illegal, unauthorized or very improper. Start with the inmate commissary fund, Dave Harder has used as his private slush fund for years. Who could forget about the lawn chairs, he gave out as Christmas gifts, he purchased with drug money. Harder purchases brand new Chevy Tahoe’s every year, he’s tried registering some in his own name, rather than Broome County. And that nice new garage up at the jail he built without any county authorization. Who did all this for him? Pam Memos. I can’t believe she’s still allowed to work in county government. Sally Jenkins
Korchak’s wife Nadine is strutting around town like her husband’s career isn’t over. She was at the Broome Republican Women’s meeting tonight, trying to keep peace with the Republicans, incase the Democrats deny Korchak their ballot line in 2023, and he has to run in another Republican primary.
