D607
The reason Korchak deserves the most voters here is because with Preston and Jackson you can genuinely argue they didn't know any better. Occasionally village idiots get elected... it happens. With Korchak it's different, he does know better. He knows what's going on in his office, and instead of making necessary changes, and acting with integrity, he has doubled down, and is now engaged in coverups. It may not end up being any of the current scandals that bring Korchak down, it may be his response to the scandals, and his actions to cover them up, that end up bringing him down. thomas
I did not care for those raises he handed out. Arrogant and detached from the voters. To be fair, the BC Legislature had to approve them and they did on a close vote. Can anyone post the list of who voted for these raises ? GOP Insider
It's important to recap the circumstances around Korchak's raises. During Covid the courts were shut down for several months. His staff was not working, only in emergency situations. But he gave out raises. On the other hand, the Director of Emergency Services, who was literally working around the clock, nights and weekends, was denied a raise, because the county couldn't afford it, given the pandemic. The Democrats voted for Korchak's raises because he will be their candidate for DA in 2023. Republican Steve Flagg is the chairman of the finance committee, he is supposed to be one of the fiscal watchdogs for Broome County. But he gave in and voted for the raises because his father and Korchak's #2, Mark Loughran, are friends. The other two Republicans, Baldwin and Shaw, made a big mistake. Hopefully they regret it. The answer to this poll is Korchak. Preston did some good for the county, before she started playing dress up and selling jewelry from her office. Alan Dershowitz
One of Broome County's best and most experienced prosecutors, of the last few decades, was working at the Broome DA's office when Steve Cornwell announced he wasn't seeking re-election. This gentleman had a record number of arson trial wins. Arsons are very difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. He ended up taking a job in a neighboring county, making a lot less money, because he refused to work for Korchak. That says it all.

27 Time World Champions
The one that stands out the most to me is when Douglas Walter Drazen almost pulled it off for Mayor of Binghamton. Matt Ryan won a close race. Naomi Kradjian finished 3rd I believe. I often wonder what would have happened if Drazen won.

Mike the Tiger
Korchak gets an F. Preston was only a C or a C-. She started off doing well, then completely lost it.
thomas
Well, the bricks and stone paving looks very nice. Once you get past the garbage. Didn't Drazen run on cleaning up Binghamton? Btw, I drove down Main St. JC to get to Home Depot recently. That downtown JC is jaw droppingly depressive. All empty dilapidated store fronts. Shocking. Downtown JC and downtown Endicott both need to be entirely re-thought and refocused.
Solak Supporter
JC and Endicott’s problems started in Binghamton. The last clear chance to end those problems passed a decade and a half ago.

Anyway, is Mike the Barber's business New York Styles? I don't know how up to date this Google graphic is.

Mike the Butcher was a Barber?😟 New York Styles is at 280 Main Street. Another Barber Shop up from Hollywood Barber Shop on Main St in JC. I believe there’s another one called Benzas at 215 Main St. Mike is the owner of Hollywood Barber Shop at 251 Main Street in JC. So that’s 3 Barber Shops on Main St in Johnson City practically within a block of one another. Apparently, hair ain’t dead.
27 Time World Champions
I’ll have to drive by to be sure but according to Google, all 3 of those places are still in business.
