Debra Gelson — what does she do all day?

It’s being reported Senior ADA Debra Gelson has a no show job at the District Attorney’s office. She was hired because of her standing with local Democrats, so Mike Korchak can keep peace with the Democratic Party, and run as a Democrat for re election.

Gelson was assigned to the special victims unit at the DA’s office. She is reportedly so incompetent all of her co workers quit. The co workers had to pick up the slack, and do Gelson’s work. 

All of her co workers have now quit their jobs at the DA’s office: Stephanie Milks, Christopher Ganz, Janel Kaufman and Amanda Clark.

Korchak has put his re election and maintaining relations with Broome Democrats over the interests of the DA’s office.

I’ve also heard about this Korchak scheme. But I can assure you, Deb Gelson isn’t so loved by the BC Dems that she can singlehandedly keep Korchak in everyone’s good graces. Gelson just came around a few years ago. She ran in one election and ran an awful campaign. She made a few friends in the party, but that’s it. Simply employing Gelson won’t be enough for widespread Democratic support.

Deb Gelson last time I heard is like a Key holder. That’s all she is capable of but now she can’t even handle that, no wonder she supports Mara Young Grace as noted on this website from a Facebook post Deb shared on Mara’s Facebook account showing her support. Deb and Mara are both very unliked, they both ran losing campaigns and have Zero Support. Nuff Said! Haha

Hopefully Josh Shapiro is the Democrat candidate for DA and Paul Battisti is the Republican. So Korchak won’t have a line to run on.

Korchak is corrupt and he's a sad and insecure man.  He repeatedly tried to get Josh Shapiro's wife fired from her job at City Court. Why is Korchak intimated by strong intelligent women? If Josh Shapiro does run for DA against the corrupt Korchak, he would have lots of support.

Most likely because his good friend Mara Young Grace will be unemployed by the end of this year and he wants to help her out with a job lol…..

Gelson can do no wrong because she's a Democrat, and it's caused several colleagues to quit?  Korchak needs to be investigated to misuse of tax payer dollars (Gelson's salary/benefits) for political purposes.

I would support Josh Shapiro for District Attorney in a Democratic Party primary over Korchak. I had the chance to meet Josh and his wife, they are great people.

Korchak will have to answer to all these bullshit hiring decisions during the 2023 election. Like giving Deb Gelson this political job in the DA’s office, where her duties are to bake cookies and knit socks for her Democrat friends. And giving Mark Loughran a $16,000 raise during Covid, when there was a hiring freeze, and every other department had to do more with less.

Korchak’s ADAs we’re routinely unprepared at City Court. But rather than address the problem with his own office, Korchak demanded the clerks and secretaries at City Court do the work for his lazy staff. Jennifer Katz (Mrs. Shapiro) is the Chief Clerk at City Court. She rightfully told Korchak no; that it wasn’t the court’s problem his ADAs were not prepared for court.

Korchak then contacts Supreme Court Judge Gene Faughnan, demanding Katz be fired for not bowing down to him. Faughnan basically tells Korchak to go “F himself.”

Korchak is thought so little of, only an hour after this all went down, the entire 6th Judicial District knew he tried to get Katz fired. The general response was “who the hell does he think he is?”
