Sophia Resciniti-Korchak running for NY Assembly

Recommended Posts

Sophia Resciniti-Korchak, a city councilwoman from Binghamton, will soon announce her candidacy for NY Assembly. She will run for the seat currently held by Donna Lupardo.

Earlier today fellow Republican Robin Alpaugh announced his candidacy for the seat. This sets up a June primary between Alpaugh and Resciniti-Korchak.

Can’t decide if they look more cozy in the first or last photo. Looks like Date Night in the first photo lol

The association with the Korchaks is enough to lose the primary for Sophia "Resciniti-Korchak."  She is also proven to be politically clueless.  Why would she force a primary, causing both candidates to spend money, when the winning candidate will need $100,000+ to even run a competitive race against Lupardo? This makes absolutely no sense.

So Alpaugh is somehow entitled to the nomination, and anyone else interested is “forcing” a primary?

The real question is who can beat Donna.

Alpaugh is just another handlicked party insider hack and punchless palooka Donna will pound from pillar to post.

Sophia could win. Alpaugh could not.

Assuming Sophia raises money, puts in her own money, and runs an actual competitive campaign, Lupardo gets between 60 and 65% of the vote. Sophia gets between 35 and 40%.

It is nice to see some enthusiasm to oppose Donna Lupardo. She has gotten a pass her entire career. She’s never questioned by the media and her election opponents have been weak.

This year will be a good year to go after her. The Republicans have a lot of momentum after their wins last November in Broome County. And with the Democratic Party failing us in Albany and Washington, it won’t be a fun year for Democrats to run.

Around here horrible candidates like Kate Newcomb and Lea Webb will also be running. This may be the Republican wave that sends Lupardo into retirement.

Leaked from the Dry Cleaning Castle on Crestmont Road:

Sophia is worried sick about Nadine Korchak attending her campaign announcement Tuesday.  She knows her close friendship with the Korchaks had already hurt her campaign before its even started.  But the enormous ego of Nadine insists on being in attendance Tuesday. The presence of Nadine turns the stomachs of most Broome County residents, especially members of the Republican party.

I saw Nadine at Sophia’s announcement today at the Riverdale. I had no idea she was so nasty. Now I understand the nickname. Giving filthy looks to everyone, rudely trying to intrude in conversations. She’s got a real attitude problem.

Sophia is trying to deny she is close to Nadine and denying Nadine and Mike are supporting her campaign.
