ginger
Matt Gaetz is an idiot. Yesterday's show boating is totally compromising integrity of conservatives. Here's my position. I know Jim Jordan does not want the seat. He needs to be made to understand he can delegate and steer those committees as he sees fit. Other people like Elise Stefanik are qualified and capable. I understand some people think he does not have the temperament for the job. Too bad. Anything but scorched earth this year is unacceptable. Psst, Marc Molinaro, capiche? ginger
Put Claudia and Elise on Judiciary. Let Jim Jordan as speaker determine their priorities. Sounds like a win/win to me.

A handful of adult, and smart, Dems could put McCarthy over the top. Dems always say the Rep obstruct. Ummm, what are Dems doing here, lol. The consensus on twitter appears to be McCarthy is bought and paid for. For the same reason we elected Trump..this will have to play out until they come up with a speaker that doesn't owe anyone anything.

thomas
the Democrats Two Republicans were not present to cast their votes due to medical and family reasons, but are expected to return by the end of the day to cast their votes for McCarthy as the rounds of voting are likely to continue. With those additional votes, McCarthy is expected to have 216 total votes, meaning just two of the six remaining holdouts would need to flip their support in order to reach the required threshold to be elected speaker. The six Republican holdouts are Andy Biggs of Arizona, Matt Gaetz of Florida, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Bob Good of Virginia, Matt Rosendale of Montana, Eli Crane of Utah. And all the Democrats.
