This time she's in the Bahamas.

How many vacations can an elected official take? If there was a contest, Fiala would win by a landslide.

When the going gets tough.. Fiala gets going.

I want a county executive who is dedicated to the people and problems of Broome County.

No wonder she hasn't responded to my email. Anyone out there know who in the county might know how to get a look at the request for proposal document that's due March 19th - to get the $175,000 state grant money???

We need John Solak back to investigate how many times Barbara Fiala has gone on vacation and how much taxpayer money she has used to pay for them.

Where are you, John Solak?

She's out of the country working for The Emperor's Club. Leave her alone. She's just trying to make an honest buck.

The simple truth is Fiala is out of touch with Broome County. Here's a lady who after she was elected county clerk planned to move out of Binghamton's first ward, then took her house off the market when she decided to run for executive. Because the Deocrats in the first ward would help her in the primary, and sure enough, they did.

She's no different than Donna Lupardo. Lupardo used people to get to where she is. In 2002 she relied on endorsements from Democrats like Garo and John Cordisco, after all she was only a one-term legislator, who had just been defeated for reelection to the county. After being elected Lupardo turned her back on those who supported her when others wouldn't. She sat back and watched while the Bucci administration took personal shots at Cordisco and his business.

I genuinely and sincerely hope the Spitzer scandal hurts Lupardo and Fiala's reelection bid.

Hey Trump - tell us more about Kuzel.

Chris Kuzel is a Republican from Johnson City. He was elected to the Broome County Legislature in 2002. Before Kuzel even took the oath of office, he entered into bipartisan talks with a Democrat to introduce legislation to cut the number of legislators, and implement term limits. Needless to say the measure was defeated by the Republican majority.

It became apparent that Kuzel was not a status quo Republican. Thus, he was primaried in 2004. He was successful in one of the biggest grassroots campaigns in county history. Tom Libous ran a better financed candidate. Kuzel was successful because, as many supporters put it, he is a man of the people.

Since 2004 Kuzel has advocated open meetings and transparent government. He introduced legislation to allow public comment at business meetings. As it stands now, county residents cannot address the legislature without jumping through hoops. Kuzel also wants to move business meetings later in the evening so more residents can attend. For the last decade meetings have begun from 4-5pm.

In broader terms Kuzel stands for smaller government, lower taxes, and participatory government. What other elected officials campaign on -- Kuzel actually stands for; he has a track record to prove it. Kuzel has been at the losing end of more 18-1 votes than anyone else on the legislature.

No one cares how many vacations Fiala takes, even if it is 3 or 4 a year. Also, no one cares whether any taxpayer money is being used, directly or indirectly, to pay for her vacations. All this is simply irrelevant.

There isn't any taxpayer money being used.. but people do care how often shes on vacation. These aren't good times in Broome, we need an executive who is willing to fight the good fight; not book a good flight...

THE ONLY THING TO DO IS VOTE HER OUT! ITS TIME SOMEBODY THAT CARED MORE THEN LINING THEIR POCKETS WORK FOR US AND THE COMMUNITY. ANYMORE ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS HOW MUCH THEY WILL GET FOR RETIREMENT AND HOW MUCH THEY CAN TAKE ALONG THE WAY.

If taxpayers pay her salary, and she pays for her vacations with her salary, then there is taxpayer money being used.

If you work for IBM and you take a vacation, that means IBM paid for your vacation? You didn't earn the money?
