IRS should investigate Citizen Action

Don't forget that "Soft on Crime" Citizen Action also supported and endorsed our DA Mollen. Why is it that Mayor Ryan is blamed for the crime when the DA's Office consistently gives plea bargins to every drug dealer from Brooklyn?

No wonder these dirt bags are not afraid to come here.

. . . . ask if it is acceptable to use state grant money and taxes for a $100,000 no-bid contract like that given to Plexicomm for the muni wifi system that does not work.

Sorry to spoil your day, Guest-Guest-*, but IT DOES WORK if you are reading this. I'm sending this reply from inside a downtown building via a non-repeated/un-amplified 5.5-11.0Mbps connection to the "binghamtonwifi" network on "Channel 1" via AP-MAC access point "00:0C:42:1F:09:CA" with a "signal-to-noise" ratio ranging from 15 to 24. There have been days in the past week where I have had a connection speed of up to 24.0Mbps from this location (wifi speed is affected, as you may realize, by network traffic volume, weather, electronic "noise", etc.). Sure, this service may have some variations in it, but it DOES WORK. For a service that costs taxpayers nothing more than they are already paying, this is a great value and positive step forward for our City.

If you are having trouble connecting and you are located in the service area, maybe your computer's settings aren't right. I'd suggest you call the tech support number 821-4596 (M-F, 9am-5pm) to see if they can help you.

If you are not located in the service area, consider moving down here. But, remember, it's not your place to think you have any authority to impose your concept of what the standards should be when the network has already been professionally designed. No doubt you have seen how RoadRunner and DSL can slow down during times of peak network traffic. No technology is infallible, but so far, this downtown wifi system has shown itself to be both robust and a great value.

They also endorsed soft on crime, Joe Cawley for Judge.

Yeah, yeah, sure it works in a few select sports.

Right now it does not work in front of the Metrocenter and in front of the Court House.

It was supposed to cost $58,000, ($29,000 from a state grant and $29,000 from the city), if $58,000 was not bad enough to get a handful of people on line that could have used the Holiday Inn signal or signals form the businesses they were in, now we find out it will cost $98,000 or more. That's spending $75,000 for a needless servcie that will lose money evey year it operates

AND IT WAS ALL DONE WITHOUT A BID!!!!

THAT IS HIGHLY UNUSUAL AND PERHAPS ILLEGAL, CERTAINLY SUSPECT.
