dingbat
This is so aggravating! I registered on the DO NOT CALL site for both my home phone and cell phones, but now I'm getting junk texts via email. It's the same kind of stuff I get in my email junk mail folder. (online gambling, Viagra, Are you horny? ect...) These people sure are getting tricky in finding ways to get around the DO NOT CALL laws. Anyone know a way to stop these email texts? There's really no way to stop it unless a law is made. So looks like spammers can live on
Tazz
http://www.ceqna.com/mobile-phones-plans/4...ll-phone-2.html 1st, once the text charges show up on the invoice, the cell company rep can fill out a form for that company to remove you. The easiest way is to do it yourself, when you recieve the unwanted text, reply back with 3 words STOP CANCEL REMOVE within seconds you will recieve another text confirming that you have been removed from the service. Also, when you get your cell phone bill, call customer service, tell them what happened and they will remove the charges from your bill. Hope this helps

Welcome to the club: I did some internet research and found what I thought was a legitimate firm that would pay you $5.00+ for answearing surveys on your computer. They obliously sold my e-mail address to hundreds of other entities like credit card company's, online dating services, online college institutions, etc., etc. If anyone knows how to stop hunderds of junk e-mails please let us know!!! dingbat
Thanks Tazz, I'll try that next time. Is this becoming a really common thing now? I get a few a week, but my husband gets them a few times a day.
Tazz
My son gets more than I do. I think it is because he uses his as a regular phone, whereas I use mine only once in the blue moon. But yeah, I think it is becoming a big issue. @
Guest Guest
Well, I'm an old fart and don't really need texting, so when I started getting spam texts I had Verizon block all texting service from my account. I only used to text to amuse my grandkids so didn't really need it. If somebody needs to talk to me they can call or leave a message.

I don't use my main email for much other than friends and family. Get yourself a Yahoo or Hotmail account to use when you need to put in an email addy on certain sites or surveys. That and using Microsoft Outlook (which has a junkmail folder) has helped keep junkmail to a minimum.
Guest Guest
If you get a junk text, it's because you sent a text to some service. Did you vote for American Idol? Vote for a sports MVP? Text a message to that big screen TV at Sports Bar?
