City of Binghamton detectives were continuing an investigation into a stabbing early Wednesday morning on Chapin Street that put an unidentified 26-year-old Binghamton man in the intensive care unit at Wilson Regional Medical Center, Johnson City.

Binghamton police detectives said they were interviewing people who were in the Chapin Street area when the incident occurred. The stabbing was reported to Binghamton police at 12:13 p.m. Wednesday.

The man suffered a single stab wound to the lower abdomen and underwent surgery, according to detective Sgt. Arnold Nanni of Binghamton.

“We don’t really know what happened in the incident at this time,” Nanni said.

No weapon was recovered, Nanni said.

I was listening to this on the scanner last night. When the cops called dispatch to let them know the ambulance was on it's way to Wilson, the cop said that the guy had a "Deep, deep cut to his jugular."

Chapin Street has become the skid row of Binghamton. Have you driven down through there lately? Drugs, alcohol, junk cars, once beautiful homes converted to flop houses. Don't send the police down there, just give them time and they'll kill each other, just give them time.
