Did Tommy toss out tootsie rolls, and Matt fight a woman during the washer march ? Did all the local pols announce this was an economic stimulas package that would create hundreds,nay thousands of good paying local jobs? Did they have fireworks afterwards? Why didn't they announce that we were going to have a parade? This should become an annual event. Obviously you do not know anything about running a business nor do you have any financial intellect. The washer if you MUST know has been financed through a local bank who has granted the loans that Bates Troy will pay back from operating profits over the next many years.It didn't come from opening up old shoe boxes of money that you think have been hidden under the bed! The expansion is necessary in order to continue to operate a successful local business that attracts customers to do business with them and create positions for those who want to work. 10 jobs that have been created equates to over $6 million spent throughout the Binghamton area over the next 3 years based on studies provided by the Economics and Finance Departments of Binghamton University. Why is this such a bad thing? The plant is spacious, clean and well ventilated . It's definately not a sweatshop . Illegals working there? Please.... it's the year 2008 and there are laws that businesses must follow. Are you an illegal? How many employers do you know are investing in buildings/equipment /people during this time especially in Binghamton? Why is it that so many Binghamtonians show envy toward successful hard working rightous companies trying to do the right thing. Would it make you gleem to read that Bates Troy is moving to Pennsylvania and laying off 105 workers to avoid the high water/taxes/utilities rates that Binghamton and New York State burden them with? For you Mr. Ignorant I must end with two qoutes that you may have to have someone explain to you " It is best to remain silent and be thought the fool than to speak(in your case write) and remove all doubt." The other is " The constitutional right to talk nonsense does not provide protection against being thought the fool. Sorry to bust your bubble here but Kradjeans Bates Troy has been known for many a year to be a sweat shop taking full advatage of the imigrant labor ask any Italian that has had parents working there, I for one has and know how hard they worked for a meager pay,long hours in the heat of summer pressing clothes. I agree expansion is the key to a profit but at whos expense? I can hardly believe they spent only their own money and didnt get anything from the goverment after all isnt Neima involved with Bates Troy? We all know that shes good at getting goverment money and maybe some of that has trickled down into this great Exapansion of theirs. You my friend are the one who looks like a FOOL after all your telling us how great they are when their properties look like something out of Flint Michigan. First off, it's Carol and Mike not the other way around. Try getting it right duffus. Second, it was Post # 4. Guess you showed us you can read huh ? Big differance from 19 huh? Third, what happened yesterday was good. But that alone does not change our point of view on the BPD or them working without a contract, which is what the statements were really about ( e.g. who could really blame them for sitting and eating donuts instead of BABYSITTING a Big Washing Machine? ). OK -- Thank you for pointing out my errors . Notice the corrections ? I think your comment clearly indicates that your speaking about the department as a whole . Also , the comment basically states they would rather be eating donuts than doing their jobs because of no contract . You can twist and turn it all you want or focus on the minor errors I've made .
