Guest Guest
Endicott Bomb Squad In 1985 the Endicott Police Department Bomb Squad was formed. The Bomb Squad was created due to the increase in bomb related incidents globally especially in major industries. With the support of one of the largest corporations in the Endicott area, the Bomb Squad became fully equipped and operational. Today, a major portion of the equipment received by the Unit is received from the Federal Government and Homeland Security. The Endicott Police Department Bomb Squad is a multi-jurisdictional unit consisting of Police Officers from our department, Fireman from the Endicott Fire Department and the Binghamton Fire Department, and a Fire Investigator from Broome County. The officers that are part of the unit are Det/Lt Craig Williams, Sgt Deron Bowman, P.O. Michael Hilla, P.O. Mark Klumpp, Fire Marshall Tom Murphy, Fireman Dana Stockton, Fireman Rick Tinder, and Sr Fire Investigator Tom Vroman. Fireman Don Collins is also assigned to the squad and has not yet attended the 5 week certification course for bomb squad members. The Bomb Squad continues to meet the needs of the Village a well as surrounding communities. The Bomb Squad responds to and handles incidents in the Village of Endicott as well as other jurisdictions in Broome, Tioga, Tompkins, Chemung and other counties in the Southern Tier. The Bomb Squad is part of an organization called Upstate Bomb Squad Commanders which consists of several bomb squads in the Upstate area. This organization trains and provides assistance and knowledge to one another @
