Man injured trying to intercede in 'large bar fight' StoryChat Post CommentStoryChat COLESVILLE -- Law enforcement officers from three agencies were called to the Hitchin Post Tavern on Route 7 shortly after midnight Friday for a fight over a female bartender that resulted in a good samaritan being treated at a local hospital for a large lump to the head, a black eye and a small cut over the right eye that required stitches. State troopers, Broome County sheriff's deputies and Port Dickinson police responded to the incident which was initially reported as a "large bar fight." Sheriff's deputies reported the injured man, Mark O'Hern, tried to breakup one of several fights involving 20 persons. Deputies said the fight was reportedly between the woman's husband, his friends and relatives against a man identified as a boyfriend.
