PEDOPHILE WARNING

Unbelievable

Recommended Posts

I am a Lieutenant with the State Police and, as you may know from my recent

e-mail about our tournament, I am also with Johnson City Little League.

Below is information of the utmost concern that you need to be aware of for

child safety purposes.

It appears there is a pedophile and potential sexual predator that has

appeared on at least three instances (that we have recently learned of) at

Northside Park (on Harry L. Dr) in Johnson City. The latest incident was

this weekend when it involved JC Little League kids/personnel. We have also

learned of at least two other incidents that happened previously, involving

school sports teams. Here are the details as best as I have them at this

point.

About a month ago, members of the modified boys baseball team were

practicing at the old high school field, at Northside Park, when a white

male in a blue sports car, described as having a spoiler (described at the

time as a Neon) exited his vehicle and called to one of the outfielders to

come over to him and 'take a look.' The player did not go near the subject,

but observed the subject was masterbating. The player immediately ran to

his coach and notified him and the subject fled in the vehicle. The subject

was described as a white male with dark colored, short hair, possibly a

receding hairline, medium build, believed to be approximately 30 years old.

Sometime between that instance and this weekend, a subject in a blue car was

parked on the road that travels through the park (in between the school

fields and the village baseball fields and tennis courts) and called over to

a female lacrosse player who was practicing. The player looked over and

observed the subject to be masterbating. I don't have a physical

description or further details of the person or vehicle in this instance.

This weekend got more disturbing. At approximately 5 PM on Saturday, an

adult involved in JC Little League, who had heard about the first incident,

saw a blue car parked adjacent to the tennis courts and observed what she

thought was a male subject stand from a kneeling position near his car while

pulling up his pants, then getting into his car. She alerted people, and

efforts were immediately made to follow the car and get a license plate etc.

Almost immediately after all this happened (and independent of the adult's

observation), a group of boys, ages 6-11 who had been playing baseball on

the tennis court, reported that the subject who got into the blue car had

called to a 6 year old boy to come over to him, while the 6 year old was

retrieving a tennis ball that had just been hit. One or two of the boys

actually heard the guy call (described as calling softly) to the 6 year old.

The rest of the boys didn't hear anything, but they were immediately

uncomfortable with the subject, got scared, and called the 6 year old back

(at which time they ran and reported the incident to adults).

As I said, efforts were made to immediately follow the car and when the

driver realized that attempts were being made to follow him and get a plate

number, he sped away. He was actually confronted in his vehicle a short

time later but, unfortunately, he would not stop and only partial

identifiers were made of him.

The best information that we can give you at this time is the following:

The man is likely between 25-35 years old, medium build, dark hair, slicked

back (either by sweat at the time, or he styles it that way). He was

wearing sunglasses at the time. When he approached the 6 year old boy, he

didn't have a shirt on and was wearing shorts, possibly black. He may have

a slight mustache and may have a pox marked or rough complexion. He has

earrings in both ears. At the time, the earrings he was wearing appeared to

be horseshoe shaped, with balls at the end.

The vehicle is a very shiny, bright metallic royal blue - newer, likely to

have been bought in the last two or three years, or is a very well cared for

older car. It is believed to be a 2 door, but may be a 4 door - very sporty

looking with a factory spoiler. It is very similar in make to a Chevy

Cobalt SS or a Pontiac G5, but is also similar to many other foreign and

domestic 'lower priced' sport cars. The key is the bright blue color and

the spoiler. The interior of the car was either black or charcoal colored.

The license plate was believed to start with CXC, or something close to

that, followed by 4 numbers - however, it was only seen for an instant and

that may only be partially correct, so please don't rule out any vehicle

based on the plate.also, the license plate holder had 'Oneonta' and either

'NY' or 'New York' on it. (This leads us to believe the vehicle was

purchased in Oneonta, not necessarily that the subject lives there).

As I said, this subject has been in our park 3 times in the last month to

two months - I believe that he will likely avoid it further because he was

confronted, however he may not and it certainly does not rule out that he

won't go to some other park in the area. As a matter of fact, I would

assume he would go to other area parks rather than returning to Northside.

Please alert those involved in your leagues and your school teams to make

sure they are aware of this information. He apparently likes to frequent

sporting type events and obviously, as many pedophiles do, parks in general.

Should you believe that you have come across this vehicle, please contact

the police immediately! You are under no obligation to confront or attempt

to restrain the subject, but every effort you can make to get a license

plate number, follow him while reporting his whereabouts to the police via

cell-phone, etc. would be appreciated.

If you have any questions or concerns, or you can provide any further

information where you may have had similar instances or heard of reports,

please feel free to contact me via e-mail or cell phone. My cell phone

number is 607-343-2615. You can contact me at this e-mail or, preferably,

if related to this incident, at: pgarey@troopers.state.ny.us

"sounds like the real sports mind to me...."

Now THAT is real spot on analysis.

That would certainly explain how the "RSM" has compiled his in-depth knowledge of youth sports.

It's all making sense now ...

Excellent information. I would suggest to copy and paste this into the local section for all to see. Thanks again.

I got this today in an e-mail and sent it to everyone on my list that lives in the area. I figure it won't be long before this sicko moves on to a different town in the area. Hopefully, they will catch him soon!
