Binghamton Forward
This week Binghamton elected a supermajority of Democrats to Binghamton City Council, flipping council from Republican to Democratic control, and giving Democrats enough votes to override any vetos from Kraham. There have been supermajorities in Binghamton before, but the last time the mayor was of one political party, and the supermajority of the other party, has been many years. The incoming President of City Council now becomes more powerful than the mayor.

Let your imaginations run wild with that one.
Solak Supporter
The warnings Solak and others made long ago about the coming disaster for the City of Binghamton were scoffed at and scornfully dismissed by the “serious” people in Binghamton’s political class. Now these same people or their handpicked successors still present themselves as knowing the way forward, and apparently, there are enough saps, suckers and compulsive conformist dupes to allow that cynical political masquerade to continue. bell hooks
It's interesting Joe Burns didn't run for city council again. He could have been the new city council president and more powerful than the mayor, the position he ran for in 2021 against Kraham.
Solak Supporter
What did Rich David do to help his successor avoid this predicament? Nothing. He was too busy with his customary late night partying and feeling entitled to be a candidate next year, so he felt no need to care about this year’s candidates, or about what would happen to the City of Binghamton if they all lost.
