A Faithful Catholic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKxnaMeOK20 Just like you can blame the Crusades on the Muslims you can also blame 1/2 the Spanish Inquisition on the Muslims and half on the Jews. Queen Isabella HATED those heretics that made false conversions just to bring down the CC from within. She chased them out of her country!!!!! The contemporary Spanish chronicler, Sebastian de Olmedo (Chronicon magistrorum generalium Ordinis Prædicatorum, fol. 80-81) calls Torquemada " "the hammer of heretics, the light of Spain, the saviour of his country, the honour of his order". Torquemada saved Christian Spain.

Guest Guest
While Torquemada's religious fervor can hardly be questioned, Whitechapel raises the possibility that the king, queen, and pope had other motives for wanting an inquisition--financial interests. Sixtus IV needed funds to "subdue rebels in the Papal states and fight a war against Muslims in the east." Ferdinand and Isabella wanted to mount their own war against Muslims residing in Grenada, and they, too, needed money to finance it. According to the rules of the inquisition, local inquisitors could seize the property of any person accused of heresy, and that property would ultimately fall into the hands of the monarchy. An accused person always had the option of buying an expensive pardon from the Vatican. Both the pope and monarchs stood to profit from the Spanish Inquisition, especially because the heretics targeted by Torquemada were reputed to be a prosperous lot--conversos, Jews who had converted to Catholicism. You blaming the Muslims and Jews is like blaming the Jews for Hitler and Germany. Or - it's the homosexuals fault for breakup of family values. All dogma is perfect - that's why people believe without question - that is the reason that All regions have failed to be us closer to God. God makes us question and following blindly only leads to heartbreak and "sin". Your understanding of what happened and happens is clouded by your dogma - and you like it that why - how sad. 1 in 3 women in the US have abortions, to bad your mom's choice was wrong - she's going to hell for having Satan's spawn. Baloney: 1.) The Jews and Muslims made FALSE CONVERSIONS into the Catholic Church and WERE CAUGHT. They brought on the Inquisition themselves. 2.) It is the militant homosexual agendas that have tried to attack the normal definition of the family and aretrying to NORMALIZE their lifestyles. They have made progress in many heretical churches. Purely satanic. All dogma is perfect - that's why people believe without question - that is the reason that All regions have failed to be us closer to God. Guest Guest
However, some traditional Catholic apologetics about the Inquisition is untenable, for example, the claim that the Church did not put heretics to death, the state did. Yes, but the Church urged the state to do so, and churchmen hardly escaped responsibility through this legal maneuver.

It is specious of A Faithful Catholic to deny Inquisition murders were carried out in the name of his Church.
