They put CIVIL RIGHTS before the Holy Gospels. That's where they screwed up. Now they are coming apart and paying for it. The Gospels come first, no matter how many feelings they hurt. Jesus was a MAN, the very person a TRUE priest emulates behind the ALTAR........ The Apostles were MEN and only chose men following the Lord's example....... A woman cannot act in persona Christi, nor an Alter Christus, PERIOD. No matter what..... A woman CANNOT be married to a bride no matter what society tells you........ There is your problem....equal treatment based on race or gender (not affirmative action or preferential treatment) are SOLIDLY based in the Gospel and in the spirit of Jesus' teachings. Your literal interpretation of scripture recorded by MEN exclusively in a time period when social mores dictated such a viewpoint is narrow-minded, at best, not withstanding that there are so many iterations of translation that have occurred over the centuries. Rather than abiding by the love and acceptance that is the spirit of the Gospel, you pick and choose verses here and there that support your narrow viewpoints and dogmas in an attempt to justify your denial of others to experience the fullness of service to Christ.
