Things are really happening in JC!

JC?

You mean where a new Wal-Mart is going in?

Where a new Wal-Green's just opened?

Where the new Sante Health Clinic just opened?

Where a second brand new building is being constructed to house more doctors?

Where Wilson Hospital just invested another $4,000,000?

Where the new Firehouse Stage just opened in the rehabbed former Municipal Building?

Where the Red Robin Diner was just bought, renovated and re-opened?

Where NBT is building a brand new branch revonating an old house and adding a brand new one?

Where Gannett just built a new multi-million dollar regional printing plant?

Where the biggest mall in the area is located?

Where real estate values are soaring?

Where the Mayor is a hell of nice guy and answers his phone in person?

Where the police are doing a better job fighting crime than in Binghamton?

What would you like to know about it?

Do you know what is interesting?

The Press & Sun-Bulletin is now more open for discussion than BCVOICE.

On Pressconnects.com if someone is a DELETED, like Dara Silberstein, you can point out she is a DELETED and it stays on their forum but if you try to do that on BCVOICE it is deleted.

How about that!

Where's the pride in that?

No, really, why did this person lie so blatantly about how many shows we have done?

Nowhere near two million has been spent, probably not even half of that has been spent in eight years.

Let's keep in mind and put things in perspective, Opportunities for Broome gets $3,500,000 EVERY YEAR

The Family and Children's Society gets $4,500,000 EVERY YEAR.

The Rescue Mission gets $1,500,000 EVERY YEAR.

Do the math.

Why not raise people up instead of crawling into the gutter with them and perpetuating their misery?

Please explain.

This poor PSB reader ranted about poor snow remval in binghamton. I explained the situation to him as a publci service:

READER RANT

Are road crews waiting for snow and ice to melt?

Why is it that every time Binghamton gets either a good amount of snow or ice, it takes Department of Public Works forever and a day to get around and get the city streets in a safe condition for the citizens of this city to drive on?

We got a messy ice storm that forecasters had been calling for the previous two days. The city should have been ready to take it head-on, but I guess crews are still waiting for Mother Nature to melt it away.

Hey Dale,

The clown that runs the Department of public works, Luke Day is a Matt Ryan appointee. Luke Day probably did not finish high school; nobody has been able to prove he did. He certainly has no higher education.

Luke Day never managed anything in his life. Ryan has had to hire two Deputies to do Luke Day's job.

The guy has no clue what he is doing.

The employees of the DPW had to go without health insurance for four days last week because Day, the City Comptroller and Ryan could not pay the health care insurance premium on time.

Ryan's entire administration is inexperienced and incompetent. Tarik Abdelazim his Executive Assistant, spent five years doing nothing living in his father’s basement prior to being appointed by Ryan. Abdelazim has admitted that himself.

Merry Harris, Ryan's Economic Development Officer has no experience in that either, she used to work for her brother’s hardware store. She was hire because she is the wife of Ryan's criminal lawyer. Her idea of economic development is painting a porch. A two-employee business moving two doors down the street is consider development by her.

Ryan hired a kid just out of school who lives in NYC, A&W Block, to be a Community Relations Director and he has no relationship to the City. He doesn't know a thing about it

The Director of Housing and Planning, Jim Dessauer, doesn't live in Binghamton either. He is under investigation by the federal government for the disappearance of $500,000 there. Other employees of his department are quitting en masse rather than work for Dessauer. They probably are afraid of going to jail with him.

Ana Shaelo-Johnson,, the City Youth Director has accomplished less than nothing in a year. How less than nothing you ask? She took credit for an event that others worked much harder to get together. Her salary is a total waste. Every school, church, hospital, social agency, the County, the State and Federal government have people doing her job better than does. She is completely unnecessary.

Dara Silberstein who has been negotiating city contract has no experience in government or management. She is a radical, left-wing, militant socialist, lesbian who runs the Women's Studies Program at Binghamton University but she thinks a man understands the needs of women better than a woman does and she stands by a misogynist refusing to believe at least a half dozen women and their claims of harassment by Ryan and police reports to back up those claims.

There is not one person in the Ryan administration who has any relevant experience, qualifications or competence.

They cannot even accomplish the most simple of tasks like picking up garbage and cleaning streets. Go to the Parlor Commons at Hawley across from City Hall and your will find garbage there all weekend, every weekend for everyone visiting the Arena and Holiday Inn to stumble against if the drunken BU kids leaving State Street have not kicked it into the streets

People were warned.

People voted for Ryan.

They continue to vote for other Citizen Action puppets like Lea Webb and Sean Massey.

Now they are screwed. So are municipal employees.

Don't you get it? People vote the opposite of whatever you choose. shut yer trap and things will get better. You are a very slow learner.

Interacted?

Well, I've listened and watched Dessauer pull the wool over the eyes of North Side Neighbourhood Assembly attendees.

Just in about Dessauer:

Merry Harris sat through the same meeting and said nothing bowing her head most of the time in deference to Ryan. Merry Harrsi sent me her list of "economic development" accomplishments" which included things like a new awning and painted porch.

I've seen the result of Luke Day's incompetence in person on streets clogged with snow five days after a snow storm and witnessed garbage regularly sitting on curb for three days. I have heard how he has endagered the life of at least one employee at DPW sending him into an unreinforced hole that collapsed on the employee. I've read Luke Day's comments telling residents water was safe to drink beside residents comments that the water coming out of their tap was brown and they would not drink it no matter what Luke Day tried to tell them.

First Friday garbage that sat on Hawley Stret until Monday morning. It happens every weekend.

I heard Ryan mumble, bumble and lose his way through far too many speeches and statements to count.

I've read Tarik Abdelazim's left-wing, socialist diatribes and witnessed his incompetence in negotiating like most readers of the local newspaper.

I spoke with teachers at the West Middle School about the Youth Summit and Ana Shaleo-Johnson's contribution which was next to non-existent. I also heard complaints from others on the East Side that if the City of Binghamton were really involved in that Youth Summit it should hav eben for all the city students when it wasn't. As for anything else Shaelo-Johnson has done, there is no indication of it anywhere and nobody can tell me anything about it.

A&W Block's press relases so far have been confsuing. In one instance Tarik Abdelazim had to go on Pressconnects.com and correct it.

I'd go on but I'm going out to dinner.

Going away from your computer? THANK GOD. Your dribble is very annoying. It's hilarious that you think you make an impact. you don't. you are the biggest laugh of watercooler talk at work. been there, seen & heard it. People think (know) you are an idiot. One last thing, we fully realize that you post responses to your own posts. We laugh our heads off about that childish behavior.

That's not really as impressive as you apparently think given the money available and the time they've been open. Anyhow, I had occasion recently to talk with one of the Board about why I don't go even though I normally would have attended some of these events. I made it clear that others have told me the same thing. It's apparently a public relations problem that they've discussed, right Ed?

The time they have been open??? They opened in October!

That's more shows than other places in the other in same timeframe.

The latest performances have been sold-out standing room only.

Try your assessment again.

There's a major storm heading our way.

I can't wait to see the "Snow Emergency" signs get put up again this year. I'd like to see the DPW get their money's worth and be able to use them at least a few more times before they trash the ones that don't get destroyed on the streets.

I wonder how many bags of garbage I'll see strewn all over the streets after being run over by plows, and how long they'll sit and fester.

Well let's see Ed... (Is it difficult to sell out 125 seats?)

October to Feb at the Firehouse Stage you held 6 events totaling 11 performances (one of which was the Chamber Mixer - not exactly a "show)..

During the same Time period, the Cider Mill Playhouse held 16 performances of Dial M for Murder, 16 performances of "Frog and Toad", 16 performances of "The Complete History of America, Abridged", and 12 performances of "A Christmas Carol" That's 60 performances compared to your 11.

Is that assessment enough? Or should we also look at the Forus, BU, EPAC, TiAhwaga?

You're way too full of yourself...

The Goodwill events you mentioned occurred over a year! Don't go there Ed.

DUH

The Firehouse Stage is not a dinner theatre, it is a multi-purpose performance space, of course you must count all the different types of events held there.

Keep in mind the space has only been open for 5 months. How many years has the Cider Mill Playhouse been open? How many different kinds of shows or events can you do in that space?

They do about one production a month and do multiple shows It isn't the same thing now, is it?

Anyway it is not a compettion. That was not the point.

Remember this was in response to a previous poster who said only 1 show had been done in the Firehouse Stage space. Obviously that was not true, was it. That was point of the posts. The EXACT wording of the response was "That's more shows than other places in the other in same timeframe." It didn't say more shows than all other places in the same time frame, did it. Sure some do more, many do less. By all means look over all the spaces you can and compare for us.

Guest now that's just funny
But you are listening, aren't you!

I'll bet as far as you are concerned you are the most important person in the world.

And I have your ear! Who else do I need?

I feel privileged.

Thanks for reading.

Any though on the Department of Public Works, the topic of this thread or just on me?

I may have mentioned I think the guy in charge there is an incompetent, unqualified clown.

Did I mention that? Apparently a Press & Sun-Bulletin reader feels the same, enough so to send a rant of his own in.

OMG Ed, you don't really think anyone "listens" to you do you? Did it ever occur to you many of us skim your crap for the same reason we read the headlines about trainwrecks like Lohan & Spears. Actually they are one up on you because they at least had a job that earned money. You are a worthless entity that pitifully attempts to poison normal people's opinions. It's not working babe.

Silly question - you frequently brag about having 3 bosses - HA! - what kind of job do you have that requires 3 different bosses, yet affords you 24 hours a day to post obsessive rants? You are really funny. Sick, but still funny. It's a strange world you live in Mr. Ed.
