In NYS you are required to to have NY DLIC within 30 days of residency.
Living there and residency are 2 different things. You can live here and be a resident of a different state.

You are absolutely correct. My son is going to school and "living" in PA but he is still a resident of NY because his permanent address is NY so he still keeps his NY license and he is legal.

 

The person I was referring to earlier in the post has stated in court papers that she filled out "I moved back to New York in April." that was April of 2007. In a year she has had a license in NC and PA. Mind you she lives just off Main Street in Binghamton.
