This goes for professional, college, high school and recreational. That's it, it's OVER. Guys, girls. It's over. I'm watching Sharapova and Azarenka in the US Open women's semifinals right now and the noise is beyond ridiculous. I don't care if there is unquestionable proof one expends less energy then holding it in when hitting a ball, sometimes you just gotta say no. You'd expend less energy with a spring-loaded racket, but I am certain they'd nix that. I really wish the governing bodies nixed it way back when Seles was the first prominent grunter in the professional ranks. Back when I could still play and this was a relatively new phenomenon, I occasionally had the misfortune to be be on a court next to a grunter(s) and it was amazingly distracting and annoying.
