27 Time World Champions Posted March 26, 2012 Report Share Posted March 26, 2012 2 horses died during the filming of season 1 and another horse died during production of season 2. HBO then decided to cease all future production on the series. Not sure about the details surrounding the death of the 3 horses, but I'm guessing PETA was putting pressure on HBO to halt production.
