Have thoroughly enjoyed watching this team this season. What a different atmosphere at the Arena than last year. Some occasional slow starts in the first period but otherwise mostly consistent great effort, great skills, great teamwork, great coaching. Selfishly wish the NHL lockout hadn't ended; bigger AHL fan than NHL and would have loved to keep this team intact and see how far they can go this year. But have to be happy for the guys who have worked hard and will now get their chance to play with the big club.

Agreed Solomon. I understand that the AHL is a developmental league and have spent time on this board reminding others of that over the years. My issue this time around, is that Ottawa is going to tear apart this roster and (potentially) hurt our chances at continued success this season. With the players we are losing and the direction that could take us, fans here are going to HATE Ottawa. That's not a good thing when you consider that many are already unhappy with the affiliation. They like the team we have, just not fans of the parent club.

While they are worried about getting fans back at the NHL level, they will turn many away at the AHL level. Sadly, they won't care. If they cared about the fans, the lockout wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Listened to last night's game on the radio. For a game where no one lit the lamp until the shootout, it was pretty exciting. Glad they were able to beat Syracuse. Lehner was amazing; great to have him back for a while.

He was good last night as well and has accepted his demotion with class. A great guy, who has made huge strides in his game and his maturity in the last couple seasons.

Well, your prediction was right. As if our roster hasn't been depleted enough these past few weeks thanks to Ottawa (especially with Hoffman and Stone injured), now they take DaCosta...just what we didn't need. As Lehner showed this weekend in the two losses to St. John's, he's consistently great in goal and can at least keep the score from becoming an embarrassment, but he can't do it all. We're screwed, again.
