Guest Guest
Congrats to the Yanks for winning the AL East. They'll play the winner of the Rangers vs. orioles game and then have to play their first 2 games on the freaking road? Huh?

I like the extra wild card but it should be a best of three playoff series. Baseball is played as series all season long.

Oakland the # 2 seed is traveling to Detroit #3 for 2 games and then 3 at home. The benefit is that the WC team will not have their No. 1 pitcher for the first 2-3 games. 27 Time World Champions
Not to mention the Yanks won't know who they're playing until around midnight Friday into Saturday. There has to be a distinct advantage to the team with the best record in their respective league. It should be the first 2 games at Yankee Stadium, game 3 on the road and the last 2 games at Yankee Stadium (if necessary) That's the price you pay for being the Wild Card and the advantage you get for having the best record. Plus the wild card team having to use their best pitcher in the 1 game playoff.

What gives you a bigger advantage, 3 home games in a 5 game series [To close it out] or opening the series at home. It would be unfair to give one team both. It's not rocket science!! . Guest babe ruth
The biggest and dumbest move that MLB ever did was to allow the winner of the All-Star game to determine Home field advantage in the World Series. They need to leave baseball alone.....and yes....I am not a big fan of the designated hitter. Baseball should be played the way it was intended.
