I support our city council in its efforts to let the world know that we will not stand for this run away president and his band of idiots. Good job city council! I agree with you, but maybe our city council should stand to our local administration first, and tell them to stop sugar-coating our problems and address them. They should not be trying to impeach a president when they can't even run their own little piece of government. This is what happens when you let gays, blacks, and women try to run things. Them not running the city properly has nothing to do with gays blacks and women. It has everything to do with dummycrats in charge. They can't even get a simple budget passed without hiring more people first, then they raise taxes....but instead of trying to cut costs they waste their time passing a resolution first, against the war, then to impeach the president. Yep united we stand indeed. but what do you expect when you have liberals in charge like mayor ryan who could not think his way out of a paper bag, and council president Gerchaman who is his lackey. I am glad that I live in a city that: 1) Wastes money on a municipal wi-fi project that has been shown not to work 2) Just had an almost double digit tax increase for residents that actually own property and businesses 3) Has had a double digit crime increase (somewhere in the neighborhood of almost 20%) and the county crime rate has actually dropped 4) Pretends to encourage participation in government and then does nothing with the "information" collected at meetings and then the next year wants to create more meetings to "talk" some more 5) Has roads and parking ramps that are dreadful 6) Continues to make government bigger and bigger by adding non-essential, non-sensical positions 7) Doesn't pay their insurance premiums on time so the workers can't get medical services and prescriptions they are entitled to 8) Can't enforce code laws that are currently on the books but want to reinvent the wheel by creating more 9) Doesn't appreciate the student presence in Binghamton and continues to kick students out of residential areas because they aren't related. Not all students and landlords are bad. It seems discriminatory to me. You are truly an idealist. I am a realist (some might say a negative person). I can't speak for everyone but I imagine that most people want good infrastructure (no wifi doesn't count), to be safe and clean place to live, and good services [water, sewer, police, fire, and DPW - all of whom do a great job and are appreciated by this person]. Instead, we get "symbolic" votes, river walks, roundabouts and a decrepit, abandoned building downtown with a tree growing out of the top of it. BTW - How did that vote in Boulder work out?
