Vestal tried? They lost to the State AA champ. Didn't they absolutely humiliate Seton on their home floor in the playoffs too? If you're going to hold your nose to sky like that, at least keep it to teams that Seton belonged in the gym with.

Guest couldnt look
two championship games. the saints shot 28 per cent from the floor on friday and 35 percent sat nite. they were competitive because they got the benefit of a friendly whistle both nites.they were outplayed both nites and badly so sat nite. they werent helped much by their coach either. only he knows why he played man to man defense. the kearney kids were twice the athletesthe seton kids are. they can run. they play a very uptempo style unlike section 4 play there was no way seton could go up and down with them but sinicki tried. chalk it up to stubboness or very bad coaching. contrary to what homer stevens wrote the game was as one sided as the score indicated. at no point did setons play give you the idea they could win. a number of referee calls helped them tighten things up but not their play. obviously a nice season however it would of been better had they played like the states 3rd ranked team. their opposition was not as highly regarded. Guest Guest
Actually here's how it goes: CV - tremendous season having only two seniors and without "Duke-Killer" Matt Mullins (just joking), sectional finalists, had to play against eventual state finalist (seton). next year might be team to beat? with Hull, Fox, Wagstaff returning for a senior year. but who knows with norwich coming down to class B... Binghamton - great turnaround year with STAC's best player Jimmy Gray, streaky, but very talented SV - not a basketball school come on. Vestal - very best team in STAC, amazing season, coach of the year, best fan club, class AA is ridiculously tough Seton - a great team that had an off night...it's hard to be hot for the last four games of the season...meier was like 1-for-7 and and is usually money. senior-laden team with tons of experience and skill. will be good for years to come with great underclassmen. It happens to great teams. Choke job?no ....worse that usual performance against Class B's best? Yes. Sinicki one of STAC's best coaches? Yes. Furner needing to cry with 3 minutes left in the game? No. All Metro selections from Seton: Meier & Torto Vestal did embarrass Seton in "The Greenhouse."

Seton = Choked away a title Seton = Season is a failure when you can't seal the deal Seton = Maybe next year Maybe all the whining and complaining from certain players came back to haunt. Karma is karma Wow Saints great year. none of this is true the game simply showed that if a team has an off night against an athletic bunch they will lose. It would've taken unconscious three point shooting to beat them. seton did not have that. great season SCC though. I'm glad Section IV has been represented so well the past two years in glens falls. CV in 08 and Seton this year it's great for the section! Glens Falls is THE sports event in NYS and to have teams go there consecutive years is great. It was a wild ride for SCC! Oooooooo...the new Chenango Valley/Seton Catholic rivalry seems to have some legitimacy now. One more thing for Kevy Stevens and the press to write about. Oooooooo...the new Chenango Valley/Seton Catholic rivalry seems to have some legitimacy now. One more thing for Kevy Stevens and the press to write about. It's has no legitimacy considering how one sided it is. CV won a big game last year, but that is the only CV victory I can remember in many years. Also there is nothing new about it. Speaking of rivalries, I would like to see the apple cup played in basketball between SCC and BHS. One game in the arena every season would be fun. That would spark up a good rivarlry. All the rivalry is today is BHS kids drving by in their friend's 87' Geo at lunchtime and yelling "buffers" at random Seton students outside. Which is then matched by the more offensive term "pumper." Which causes the BHS student to pretend to be tough and threaten a SCC student and then drive off. A basketball game might give some new material to shout at one another.
Guest Guest
i dont undertand how some of you people can rip on these kids, they made it a stage they had never been before, was the fartherest team to make it into the playoffs, and lost to a team that was better than them. sure it didnt help that meier was 1-10, johnson was 0-7, and the guards turned the ball over. the big men were anything special gosney and martin tried to hold thier own but were thrown around like rag dolls. torto and furner the two high scorers but, turnovers and inexpierence plagues tortos game. furner did alright but, couldnt jump with all the brothers. sinicki just proved everyones point that he is to stubborn to change his mind about a man to man defense and just cant win the game to get a ring. overall, seton should be proud for what they did and how they did it. also, for you people out thier calling these kids cry babies, choke artists, and say karma is a b@tch i have just one question for you, how many state championships have you played in and won? so unless king rice is going to post on here all of you keep talking about these kids behind your keyboard and computer screen. i guess getting off to talking about kids may make some of you nut. dont forget tommorrow is a new day, more will be on the board and your lotion and protein rag are on the left side of your mouse

What the hell did he do in the Championship game-blow it! The guy from Norwhich best coach hands down.Gray best player in STAC-no way-best shooter maybe -best all around player no. Guest Guest
Seton was no match for Kearny's Athletes. It was sad (not as sad as furner's balling at the end of the game) You people who are making fun of this kid need to go drink antifreeze. So a kid puts his heart into a season, or a career in this case, and he's reduced to tears after coming up short - and you think that's somehow wrong. You are a pathetic loser that's probably never played sports in your life. If you know anything about sports, you'd wish you had a kid who cared that much about the game that he'd be upset by a loss. Most kids today could give a crap whether or not they win or lose. They don't practice. They have no work ethic. They are lazy slugs that will not amount to anything. I saw the video. I thought it was great to see a kid who actually cared about winning and put it all out on the court. OBTW, several kids on the losing and winning teams during the C, A and AA contests were also reduced to tears. You obviously have some bone to pick and it's transparent. Go back to the XBOX and double up on your Ridelin douchebag.
