Guest Go Vestal Cops Posted March 20, 2008 Report Share Posted March 20, 2008 The one cop interviewed said the students were given one lane and then later moved over to the passing lane which is what caused the problem. The cop said they immediately asked the students to move over, and when they resisted, the cops got out to forcibly move them over, at which time some of the students assaulted them. LIE #1: Check out the video on newschannel34. The students turned off the BU campus and IMMEDIATELY OCCUPIED BOTH LANES. They proceeded this way past the next stop light, up the hill, and down the hill for more than 1/4 mile with NO COMMENT or OBEJCTION from the cops. Actually, the whole time the cop cars were right behind the students and they seemed perfectly fine with the situation. It was only at powderhouse road when they corralled the students and attacked. LIE#2: When the students got near Powderhouse road, the officers ordered the students to move over. VIDEOS SHOW THE STUDENTS STARTED TO COMPLY AND BEGAN TO MOVE OVER. LIE #3: Admittedly, one student was slow to move, and a cop car pulled right up behind this student and actually bumped him in the back of the knees with the fender. The student turned around and hit the roof of his cars with his hands. The officer jumped out, and THIS was the pretense for going ape-sh$t on a bunch of harmless students. All hell broke loose. Legal advisers are being consulted. You know what I don't care if you're going to take up the road like that you should get the DELETED kicked out of you. They could've listened in the first place. There would have been no violence had they remained in the one lane like they were supposed to. BTW I feel it was really nice to even give them a lane. I wonder if you were a motorist who was late to work or family obligations because of the idiots who blocked traffic? I doubt it. I wonder if you were involved in the crashes caused by the same idiots....I doubt that also. Perhaps you were a family member of a police officer hit by a protester's anti war sign, or one who was grabbed or pushed by supposed "innocent" protesters. Nope, I don't think so! These fools choose to disrupt everyone elses lives to get their views accross. When they are confronted, they become violent and whine when they are arrested. You all are criminals, as is anyone who supports your behavior, politicians most of all. I hope none of you choose to jump out infront of my car during your next protest. Guest Guest Posted March 20, 2008 Report Share Posted March 20, 2008 One of the most important things that was unfortunately missed in the "raw footage" was the actions of the first guy who got arrested, the guy with the backpack, he turned around and ran at the police car causing the officer to have to stop suddenly. Sure they were going slow, that's not the issue. The issue is this, plain and simple, the protesters overstepped their boundries the second they stepped onto the Parkway. However, the police still let them walk on the road, breaking the law. Concessions were made by the police and the marchers were actually being given an escort to ensure their safety. All they had to do was one simple thing, stay in the right lane. They immediately ignored that request and did whatever they wanted, chanting, "It's our street or we own the road", something to that effect. Even after this blatant challenge to the police they were still allowed to continue walking and block traffic. They would have made it to the Plaza if it wasn't for one simple fact, the guy in the street confronted the police car and the officer finally decided that he had bent far enough. Long after he could have arrested this guy did he finally have enough. That's when the others decided to get there shots in. Did you see the girl who smacked the cop in the back with a sign? If any "innocent" bystanders got a little pepper spray on them they only have their friends to blame and no one else. Pepper spray isnt an exact science, there will be some drifting in the air. You'd probably start shooting at cars. No kidding, all the poor little yuppies had their comfortable little routine disrupted by the evil protesters. Awww, it interfered with shopping and the ability to stuff more food into your over-fed, under-used melons. Americans these days are such soft-bellied whiners. I'd like to see how you all behave if a real crisis or disaster occurs. "I can't get to Nirchi's or Wal Mart, WAHHHHHHHHHH, i'm gonna starve, my possesions will melt, I can't fill my SUV with 200$ worth of gas, I won't get to see Day's of Our Lives, or Oprah, WAHHHH, WAHHHH!!!!!!!!!, we may starve" So many of you are pathetic excuses for life, what a sad waste of carbon-based material. Some began to spred out into the West Bound Lanes to block traffic going in the opposite direction also - This is when the Police were forced to take immediate action!!! You put the welfare of people in iraq above the wefare of your own country and community. why dont you protest the killing of thousands of unborn children each day. how about doing somethhing to help fight a real killer in the world. support cancer research or some other charity. No you would rather make a scene and cry foul against the police that are there to protect you. It's all not about YOU see you don't get it. It is all about them. They don't have to obey the laws. They don't have to listen to authority figures. Thye think that when they are given the right for free speech and peaceful demonstrations, it gives them (and only them) the right to shove the police when they broke a law. They then think it is acceptable to then waste taxpayer money (which they do not pay) to bring charges against the police. So you see. they do think it is about them and only them. If they police were tkaing care of directing traffic the accidnet would not have taken place. These idiots will probably pursue the unfounded police brutality aspect to no end! If the District Attorney's Office finds no wrongdoing they will go running to some attorney like Ronnie Beenjaemen and try to sue Vestal PD and New York State!! BU's Public Relations will suffer - They will all look like a bunch of EDUACTED IDIOTS WITH NO COMMON SENSE!!!
