relic
Just got a notice from Town of Dickinson that I have been enrolled (unless I opt out) in a CCA program, Community Choice Aggregation. Basically, towns banding together to buy electricity cheaper. Sounds good but..... Thoughts?
Back in Black
As long as you can change back at any point without charges, I say go for it. You can be our guinea pig.
PeteMoss
Union is doing the same thing. Who do these morons think they are? The rate I am being put into, without my consent, has been higher than my NYSEG rate over the past 2 years. They also don't mention if NYSEG will raise their rates to deliver the electricity. I will opt out. I refuse to be forced into something by "elected officials".
relic
I opted out. Two reasons. 1) I didn't like being auto enrolled in crap without it even being discussed prior. 2) Right now the price is cheaper than what's being offered and could even go lower, but the community deal is a lock for 2 years at a higher rate 14 days left to OPT OUT
PeteMoss
I know some people who work in NYSEG's call center. They are getting hammered from people calling up NYSEG and asking what is going on This is costing NYSEG money to answer these calls and the calls from the other 20 municipalities that are doing the same thing. TOU never sent NYSEG a copy of the letter they mailed out. I had to give the call center people MY letter for reference. The TOU really screwed this up.
