Law Office of Artan Serjanej NEWS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 27, 2023 BROOME COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE FAILS TO CONVICT IN ALLEGED FELONY ASSAULT CASE BINGHAMTON, NY – In a jury trial prosecuted by District Attorney Michael Korchak’s Office, Mr. Kout M. Akol was found Not Guilty of two felony assault charges on March 22, 2023. The unanimous jury decision came back in less than 25 minutes, a highly unusual swiftness for a violent felony trial. The case was prosecuted by Broome County District Attorney’s Office, which failed to prove the People’s case beyond a reasonable doubt. Mr. Akol was defended by attorney Artan Serjanej, of The Law Office of Artan Serjanej. In a separate incident, Mr. Akol had been previously charged with Murder. That case was also handled by the Broome County District Attorney Korchak’s Office and Mr. Akol was similarly found Not Guilty of Murder, though he was convicted of a lesser charge of Manslaughter-1. This latest Not Guilty verdict stems from an incident in which Mr. Akol was alleged to have assaulted another inmate while in the custody of the Broome County Jail. “The District Attorney’s Office failed to prove guilt and did not secure convictions for these Murder and Felony Assault charges,” said defense attorney Artan Serjanej. “The jury listened to the facts and came to the correct and just conclusion.” Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Very nicely done, Mr. Serjanej! Thank you for showing us how incapable Korchak is of doing his job effectively! Didn't he use this family name enough and it's laughable how the stantz family wants nothing to do with korchak. And for the record is Deb Gelson the most useless person in local government ?
