She lived right here in town and has not seen her children in 8 years. Then she has the nerve to use her sons death to get some attention. It's just sad. If you want them to do the job then give them the authority to say "Step aside, we are here to speak with and check the welfare of your child and we are comming in regardless of what you want". If the report is unfounded it will be documented as such. Face it, the school reported that the child didn't attend school. How many of those reports do they get on any given day? Just like the missing person reports that turn out to be runaways (for the umteenth time). Say the child was playing hookie and was hanging out with his older brother. There would be people posting on here about how DSS / CPS shouldn't do investigations on this petty stuff. You don't see an AMBER alert going out on every child "missing". Why is this ? Until you change the system (Reporting, Investigative, and especially Family Court) nothing will change. In this case the brother is to blame....period. Do you realize the other side of the coin where these people go into these scuzzy homes and get killed or raped since the majority of the workers are female? They are county workers...not police. DLINCLIMO, why don't you just go out and get a real job. who cares what you have to say. second...no one twisted any social workers arm behind their back to go to work for the county @ DSS or CPS. they are NOT under paid for what they do, which is obviously NOTHING.Im sorry to inform you I said absolutely nothing about dss or cps being under paid so how am I dragged into this. Get a quality education and you too can get a decent job with good benefits rather than whining over those who do. Believe me, they deserve much more than they get for what they do.
