It always amazes me when these things happen how parents will lie and let their kids lie to

keep them from looking bad.

They can blame who they want but they should take some responsibility and make their kids own

up to their actions.

Terrible parents.

Wow, I am a Windsor Parent and a Athlete's parent for many years! It amazes me that so many of you "Woodchucks" think this is a Windsor issue. Well News Bulletin....Its an issue in every school.....Maybe you "woodchucks" that are so critical should come out of you hole and look into your kids lifes. Check there facebook and my space maybe sit down and actually talk to them and there friends and you will learn alittle about them. This is an issue at every school. Windsor is an amazing School and my kids have had a great education with a promising future...Most often its you critical people that have the most troubled kids....so before you start throwing stone look into your own family issues.

Keep being friends with your kids and their feelings.

Keep promoting the never ending pursuit of self gratification for our youth.

This way, when they get out in the real world they continually learn that satisfying their own needs are

much more important than that of society, their marriage, or the kids they eventually spawn.

We wonder why the modern "adult" can't handle the maturity required to balance a marriage, a job, or a

role in our country.

Sports are a priviledge, period. Yes all are welcome to participate but promote the real things they are all about.

Athletes should be held to the highest standard possible.

Those that choose put one night of drunken idiocy above their involvement in sports are selfish and immature and should be

treated accordingly.

Where is the discipline?? What are we teaching kids if there are no consequences to this behavior??

If missing a few games gets it through their heads then that is what it takes.

Get caught with illegal substances in pro sports and you get suspended. If in that immoral and ridiculously loose standard of

athletics they can suspend people then we should certainly hold HS athletes to similar standards if not higher.

Stop enabling your kids and help them grow up to be productive.

you're actually mocking parents that care about their kids feelings, which could lead to self destructive behavior that no punishment will stop. you are very intelligent.

As many have said, this is not isolated to Windsor. Every student who takes part in HS sports is asked to sign a code of conduct that includes some sort of alcohol and drug policy. It is pretty clear that there are consequenses if you get caught. Some schools choose to suspend the offenders for the remainder of the current season. Others opt for suspension from athletics for the remainder of the school year. Regardless of the policy, the real issue is that the kids and their parents are made aware of this right from the start. If a kid gets caught, there should be zero tolerance. Accept your punishment and use it as a learning tool. The parents really need to learn from it as well and recognize that maybe their little angel has a problem that is much bigger than getting suspended from the team. Unfortunately, many blow it off as kids being kids or make excuses as to why they can't handle their kids.

In the case of this Windsor issue, if all the kids admitted being at a party with alcohol and the policy prohibits that then they should ALL be suspended. Period. The school should take the next step and setup a little counseling session for the suspended players and make it mandatory for them if they want to play any other sports in the future. Don't limit it to just this school year. No sports until they complete the program be it this year or two years from now. This way, the school is actually addressing the issue and providing the education and support that is needed.

For the one girl who seems to be at the center of this discussion, this is certainly not the first time she has been caught and I would bet it wont be the last. She has not learned from the suspensions. One would think the peer pressure from letting her teamates down when they really needed her to make a run at the state championship would have been a wake up call. Then again, she didn't get caught during softball season this time so she wont let them down this year. It would seem that the school would recognize the pattern and levy a stiffer penalty after a student has been caught more than once. First time, lose the remainder of the season. Second time, lose a year. Regardless of the penalty, I feel bad for this girl because she is following closely in her parents foot steps so she really doesn't have strong role models at home. It's like the old TV commercial where the father confronts the son about pot and asks him "Who taught you to do this stuff??"

"You dad. I learned it from watching you..."

Never mentioned Windsor in my post Mrs. B Knight.

Stop lieing for your kids and point to the "Everyone else is doing it" retard defense.

when HS sporting events are the center of the parents social life, and mom and dad and the whole town are getting tanked up before and after the big game, what do you expect kids to do?

kids learn from having clear boundaries set for them, explained to them ahead of time, and immediate, reasonable consequences applied when they don't meet them. it isn't that complicated

As a student from windsor high school,I have past experiences dealing with these training rules and the athletic department. Being an atlete I have signed the training rules more than once, saying that even if you are not drinking, you will still be punished as if you were drinking. I do not agree with the way she was let off with no punishment, but I also do not agree that all the others were as well. Only two kids were punished, and I do believe they deserve the punishment, but so does everyone else. I think that everyone should stop focusing on the öne "four time" offender and take a step back to look at the picture as a whole. There were 20 sum athletes at this party, and so far the school is doing nothing to punish them. Now as a student in the back of my head I feel that I can get caught at a party because I cannot get punished if they didn't. Either action needs to be taken or Durden should give up on printing and making hundreds of these traiing rules. At this point he's only wasting paper.

It is unfair to all the other athletes who have gottten in trouble or kicked of sports teams because of breaking the triaining rules. LESLIE DEMPSIE has violated the rules countless times and because she gave the AD a list of names she is now getting off scot free. This is BULLSHIT and beyond unfair. Favoring students because of there athletic abilities is wrong and senile, windsor school athletic departmentis a joke and so is Chris Durden with his cauliflower ears. He should be sent back to being an elemantary school gym teacher, he is obvioulsy not fit to be a AD.

IV. Other rules and punishments, other than those cited above, may be established by the coach.

V. It is to be understood that once an athlete has been dismissed from a team, he will not be readmitted to any other team for that particular season. It is also to be understood that an athlete voluntarily removing himself from a team without permission of the coach shall not be admitted to any other team during that season.

These are copied from the Windsor Web Site.

I cannot find the section that everyone seems to be quoting regarding just being at a party is grounds for suspension. Please get the facts before posting.

The girl was dismissed from the cheerleading team.

She will have to attend counseling.

Read the training rules.

Where in this did she get off scot free?

She gave no names up, only told the truth and admitted her guilt.

Sad when she is the only one not lying here and other parents of the

"so called good kids" are lying their kids out of everything.

You're the same group of idiots that wanted the Murrays arrested for drinking at parties but

now that it is your kid it stings.

Keep pointing fingers lying scum.

"Policies Governing Participation on Athletic Teams:

I. The policies governing participation in the Windsor Central School Interscholastic Athletic Program and Cheerleading are established as a code which each student athlete must honor for the privilege of participating on any one of the athletic teams at Windsor. These policies are in effect from the first day of fall practices in August through graduation day in June, 24 hours a day both in school and out, regardless of whether the student athlete is participating in a sport that season. Any training rule violations that occur outside an athletic season will be enforced during the next athletic season in which the individual chooses to participate. "

The previous poster neglected the first 2 provisions of the policy conveniently.

How are these relevant to the statement that "Where in the training rules does it state that being present at a party is grounds for suspension". Again please post with some level of intelligence. This addition is valid but in no way does it have any relevance to the statement.

No She was there and has admitted as much, you need to read the post to understand that all you idiots saying there is "Guilt by Association" according to the training rules is wrong. But to assume you have the ability to read the actual training rules might be too much to expect. And do not begin to lecture me about my child, I have taken the time to parent and am well aware that little susie is not always truthful.
