 Yeah, that's awesome!! I currently eat in restaurants 3 to 4 times a week. That will come to an end!!! Sorry restaurants, but that's the way they want it. As far as buying local, the only ones that will see me are the grocery stores and even that will be limited by gas prices. I'll have to cut somewhere else too because I will probably lose a lot of work due to the cost of paying me travel time between here and Syracuse, Buffalo and Albany and back, so other local businesses won't see me either. I'll just make all my purchases online. Now won't that be awesome?

BTW, I'll be lowering my "carbon footprint" so low, I mean soooooo looooow, I'll have "carbon credits" for sale if you're interested.

Why does this amuse you?

That's what I'd like to know! It really isn't all that awesome now is it! And I don't really find it funny at all!

Four  's and you don't find it funny at all. You are weird.

Guest The Laughing Liberal

This guest MUST be a Liberal! My interpretation of its words are as follows.

You Thinkingguest have no right to live the lifestyle you earn. It is better than mine so lower yourself to my level. Just never expect me to lower myself to those who use a bicycle to get around!

The people in DC and Albany who take so much of what you Earn and give it to me know what they are doing. Why should they allow evil oil companies drill more oil that will help reduce gas prices when it will destroy the environment? You just keep paying those taxes at the pump so bus riders can get a comparitive free ride.

You have a lot of nerve Thinkinguest to ask others if they have made changes because of an incompetant (?) anti-American government. If not for your kind who might realize when reading your words they "are not alone", my gods in DC would have an easier time making my life sublime through socialism/nazism/communism and all the other -isms we Liberals give credene.(American Patriotism not allowed or needed in our world)

Thinkinguest all your words do is help those who are not like me!

James,

I'm curious: What will you do for opinions (and all the other Tea Partiers, for that matter) when Glenn Beck finally, thankfully, gets yanked off the air next December? The day that national-embarrassment-that-walks-like-a-man Glenn Beck's last crazed and idiotic rant finally ends will be a fine, fine day for the intelligent people in the country, and should be celebrated as a national holiday, but who's going to tell you, and all those like you, what your opinion is then?

Hey dumbass -

I think if you were here for a number of years and paid attention, you'd know that Tom and others have had the same opinions long before anyone ever heard of Glenn Beck. You on the other hand, didn't show up until the current clown in the Whitehouse started telling you how to rinse and repeat. Way to look smart, stupid.

So, basically, people who don't understand commodity speculation are scapegoating it? OK.

I know if a bunch of people can buy something and own it only on paper and drive the price up by bidding it against each other for no reason other then you can do it to make more money and hurt people and economy and not care about anything but money is pissing me off and yes this is a run on sentence like I like to run them and you over with your oil.

Would'nt think gas was $4.00 a gallon by the amount of traffic on the roads especially the weekends!! Holy cow, you'd think gas was $.30 cents a gallon!!!

The traffic and the speed which people were going. I remember last time it was this price there were less people on the road and they were all doing the speed limit or less.

In a free market economy, isn't the only value maximum profit?

Shouldn't the oil industry be able to charge as much as the market will bear?

You will tell that the price of gas is too high when people stop buying it.

Speculators who guess too high go out of business.

Obama is simply living up to what he promised. He has not shocked me one bit since he has been in office. America will learn a hard lesson with this guy.

Agree this is his idea of an energy policy.... make us all suffer and we will be "forced" to spend less on energy...those who can -- purchase more energy efficient cars, more spending to tighten up the house, etc....I guess it is his idea of spurring on the economy too!! What a joke this guy is!!!!

Yes, but should everything fall under the rule of the free market? Should the oil underneath all of us belong only to those with the money to get it out of the ground?

The worst part of it all is the people who voted for Obama thought he was going to redistribute the wealth to them. Through his energy policy, he's diong nothing but bleeding them of every last cent they have. It seems the party of the working man and poor isn't what it says it is. I think the voters were "spoofed".

The joke is people like you that didn't have enough foresight to tighten up your home years ago and buy an economical car back then as well. Do you wear blinders? What have you been thinking all these years?

So what you're saying is that you've continued buying gas guzzlers all along thinking that gas would never go up again right? And you didn't bother caulking, weather stripping, insulating your house because you liked having fresh air blow in and it didn't bother you letting heat escape from your house. It's people like you that make me want to bang my head on the sidewalk. WTF?

They believe it's their right as Americans to be able to consume as much natural resources as they want at a cheap price.

How do you know people didn't caulk, weatherstrip, and insulate their homes? Who the hell do you think was going to buy those gas guzzlers GM was making? In your twisted, perverted liberal mind, you believe destroying the economy, trashing the dollar, and turning our country into a third world nation is the price we have to pay for living in the most prosperous nation with the highest standard of living in the world. You think that is going to put us in our place? I can guarantee you when you come to take the guns, you will be shot at.

I responded to the person that said they'd have to tighten up their home and buy a more efficient car.

I'm not sure who GM thought would buy those stupid SUV's, I just knew they kept making them so there were obviously idiots out there to buy them. Me, I like my Corolla and every other little rice burner I've owned over the years.

Do you really think Liberals and Obama destroyed the economy? You drive a big a$$ SUV don't you? Do you have gun racks in it??? Yep, you're the guy I was talking about... Good to know your solution is to start shooting people. Where did I state anything about guns?

Once again WTF??????
