M_Sable
Sorry, always have been interested in American colonial history. Our revolutionary war histories always seem to focus on the big battles, like Saratoga and Monmouth, and ignore the war in the southern department. It's really interesting stuff...what was done to sustain the effort against great odds until we we're able to go toe to toe.

M_Sable
Its amazing how many things I am aware of from childhood. I was a faithful fan of this show. Ill have to read the book. It's fascinating. He was nothing like the Disney show, although it probably captured the general idea. Apparently he was a short, thin, and not attractive man. Limped from a deformity, but had a serious demeanor, and shared all of the bad times with his troops. He also tried to curb the ignoble impulses of those under his command. It's inspiring.
