ginger
I see there was another derailment yesterday near Detroit, like they don't have enough problems. It's reported there was one car carrying unspecified hazardous material that was overturned but not leaking anything. Funny how, of all the cars on that train, the toxic one was involved. The news is stating there are more than a thousand derailments a year. Personally, I don't recall anything like that here.. maybe once, a long time ago, downtown over the viaduct. Nevertheless, everywhere in Binghamton is within a mile of RR tracks. Do we have a plan if something unfortunate should occur?
WolfMan
I imagine the state has a plan of some sorts.
2pelo Honey
There was talk of this several years ago, and it made me nervous to find out what kind of cargo was traveling on possibly unmaintained tracks, in the North country maybe? Haven't seen anything in a long time, but have thought of it myself, when I hear the trains moving at night.
