There are several articles about this matter in this issue. Country Courier is an accredited weekly local newspaper. afaik Email editor2@tiernews.com and they can convey where this issue is available on the newstand. Also by subscription. fyi, here's the link to a prior BCVoice topic reported in the Country Courier : Kirkwood Justice stays 3 months in Fla. with pay
OTR
Wait, is anyone actually reading the headline or article? The board decided to stop advertising with the paper. That's it. Seriously, what are you expecting? That when a municipality decides to advertise somewhere, they are obligated to continue doing so until the end of time? justme
The "Country Courier" has also been advertising events in Kirkwood, MO. Pretty sad they can't tell the difference between Kirkwood, MO events and Kirkwood, NY events. Since the sale, that paper is not good for much of anything. 13748
The country courier is noting compared to when Don and Elizabeth Einstein ran it. It's terrible now.

Wildcat23
The Country Courier claims the Town of Kirkwood is no longer advertising with them because of a story written about a Kirkwood Justice spending time in Florida. Kirkwood claims it's not advertising with the Courier anymore because they need the best value for their money, and the Courier isn't it. The story published about the Kirkwood Justice was two years ago. If the Town of Kirkwood was going to end their advertising because of it, it would have happened two years ago... not now. There is no disputing the Courier has lost a lot of other advertisers over the last year because it's a subpar product, compared to when the former owners ran it. The entire paper is smaller and they produce fewer copies. They've lost dozens of advertisers since April 2023 because of the quality of their product... Kirkwood is just one of many. Many families and businesses liked the Courier because Don and Elizabeth (the previous owners) did a great job. They were at events, gave to the community, and covered news. The new owner came from California expecting to pick up where they left off. But she's doing a terrible job. The Town of Kirkwood isn't the reason her business is failing, she is the reason her business is failing.
thomas
afaik The Country Courier is not claiming that " Town of Kirkwood is no longer advertising with them because of a story written about a Kirkwood Justice spending time in Florida." My link to those articles in the above post was to illustrate the value The Country Courier has brought by reporting on Kirkwood issues. "The entire paper is smaller and they produce fewer copies." from The Country Courier Feb. 9, 2024 edition For the record, I have no connection to the Country Courier or Kirkwood whatsover. Or personal knowledge of anything about this matter other than reading the Feb 9 edition of The Country Courier. This advertising issue imo is a matter of public interest. Thank you BCVoice. justme
If just the fact that the town of Kirkwood will stop posting job openings in their paper will cause them to have to let a "reporter" go or even shut down their paper, their problems are deeper than they want folks to know. This weeks edition had the same story reported about 3 times, almost word for word. They run ads for things happening in Kirkwood, MO for multiple weeks. They list that a story is continued on page 5, but it usually isn't. It is horribly edited. Most of the articles are poorly written. It is a paper that will not be renewed for another year in my house. I am guessing that "thomas" never actually reads this publication.
