The Market dropped on election day, innauguration day, the day the senate passd the bill, the day the house passed the bill, and today (the day the President signed the bill). What is the Market saying?

I farted as soon as the dow started to go down. I blame it on that. Read up on facts, CG, not conjecture.

You are still dancing and ignoring the facts and making ridiculous statements that has absolutely nothing to do with anything.

 You need help Sven. ;) So much for Obama and the dems preaching "bipartisanship" huh? ;) Oh yes, that is right, it is the typical "do as I say, not as I do", republicans need to be bipartisan but the dems dont have to.

It was sarcasm, dear.

I think the congress did a shit job of handling this. But it doesn't mean it will not work. i hope for our country it does.

Oh and I'm not a bush guy either. I'm just saying "look at the facts". I call a spade a spade. It is what it is. This isn't rocket science.

bill by the "savior"

You answered your own question.

He didnt write it Sven, but he signed it. Heck, I would bet money he probably didnt even read it thoroughly. He is clueless, but I could have told you that a long time ago.

Thank you.....finally. Now if you will just admit that the "savior" several mistakes with it as well, then we will be getting somewhere. ;)

Bet away on your assumptions. They worked well the past 8 years. ;)

HOLY CRAP!! How many times do I have to say that we are talking about THIS "STIMULUS BILL"? You have nothing at all to say to defend it because it is absolutely horrible to say the least, so you keep trying to bring up other things that have nothing at all do do with the subject at hand just to distract attention away from the facts at hand. I might as well be talking to a wall.

Sure!

I am a registered republican but I'm no Sean Hannity. I make up my own mind. I don't let a party define my values or beliefs. however, when it comes to economics and our current situation I believe Obama got it wrong. They were to quick to dump this money out there. I agree some help was needed, but I question whether enough thought and deliberation was put into it. I mean isn't it strange that not a single house republican voted for this thing? Shouldn't that raise some eyebows? Just a thought and I mean no disrespect to you Sven.

You're wrong sable. I scrutinized Bush a many times. I.ve also defended him when I saw the hypocracy of the other side. If you read my little quote "you can't cure anthrax with more anthrax", it's all about Bush, Obama and socialism.

Then maybe we can all agree if we leave it at this stimulus bill. It sucks. Let's just not make it sound like this whole mess that we're in is the policies of one party or another.

Frankly, I blame Congress for it. Obama has been in office for a very short period of time.

The stimulus bill should have had NOTHING in it but things that would create immediate jobs and infrastucture improvement.

IMHO, the Democrats in Congress are behaving just as badly as the Republicans did when they had the majority.

Yep. Agreed. I also don't agree with them having bailed out Wall Street firms previous to Obama.

Ok can one of the Obama stimulus defenders explain this to me? This is a quote from Michelle Obama about Bush's tax rebate.

Michelle Obama: “You’re getting $600. What can you do with that? I mean, not to be ungrateful or anything, but maybe it pays down a bill. But it doesn’t pay down every bill every month. Barack’s approach is that the short-term quick fix kind of stuff sounds good and it may even feel good for that first month when you get that check and then you go out, you buy a pair of earrings.”

So the first lady in June of 2008 making fun of a $600 rebate check, and is now praising her husband, whose rebate plan gets you $13 a week for a few months then drops to $8 a week?:lol:

I am still waiting for some answers to this??

Bush and Paulson didn't bail out Wall Street firms. They handed out blank checks and let the CEOs do basically whatever they wanted with them. 6 months down the road and we've yet to regain $1 billion from it. It was a terrible investment and quite honestly a terrible idea as a whole.

It dropped around 10:00am, I'm still trying to find exactly what time the stimulus bill was signed by Obama, but that's a significant drop for one day.

The time doesn't matter. Once the bill got through the senate early last week it was over. The republicans couldnt stop it. In the house not one rep voted for it and it didn't matter. From that point on it was just a matter of time before it was in front of Obama. As indicated by the futures which were sharply down, this storm had time to brew all weekend. By the time 9:30am eastern standard time rolled around the market was going to open up down 200 points just speculating on Obama's signature (which really wasn't speculation). In all acuallity the damage was done last week but we contuinue to feel it. I am just hoping that investors will begin to realize how oversold the market is and start buying like crazy. Now is a good time to get rich.

The housing market is looking pretty attractive if I had some extra money to invest as well. Prices are great right now and another bubble will form, probably not to the extent of the last one, but that's an investment I'm looking at. I agree as well with the stock market, the right industries could produce some very high returns.
