funny how you have no proof of anything you say. you can't tell me where the amherst players are playing yet are an expert in D3 basketball. like i said, i was recruited and played D1. i had teammates play D3 and most walked on. i have lived it. you just flap your yap.

Fine - here they are: There are eight players from the last TWO years at Amherst that are playing professionally. Yes I know more about DIII hoops than you.

source?????? very incomplete. if they were signed, did they play?? how long did they play?? what did they sign for??? pro basketball overseas, the countries you mentioned, is pseudo pro basketball. they get paid nothing and the quality level couldn't beat a top 25 division 1 men's team. i'm really impressed.

Hey I am not going to argue with you since it is pointless. You know nothing about DIII basketball and the recruiting process. My guess is maybe 5 players will be recruited out of the whole Binghamton area this year other than the big guy for Seton who is going DI. Try this. Go to your local high school and talk to the head coach. Ask how many players over the last five years were recruited to play DIII ball. You will be amazed how few kids get recruited. The spots on college teams are hard to make. When a coach recruits a player, he promises them a spot. There are really no places left over. A team of 12 means three spots a year open up. If you ask any DIII player I bet you would learn this.

It is on the Amherst website. You can't admit when you are wrong. But then again you were a "DI" player. If you didn't know about the level of Amherst basketball, that tells me you know NOTHING about DIII hoop! Nothing.

I kind of agree. I dont because my ........... has been recruited by several schools, and they send him random flyers and such. He has only been promised one secure spot by a college coach.

i know the pro teams they go to couldn't beat a top 50 division 1 team. that tells me all i need to know. that's like saying a guy gets drafted in the last round of the MLB draft and signs to A ball where he never leaves in his short career went "pro". those are the pro teams you are talking about. once again, not impressed.

really???? i played small D1 and was invited to 2 NBA tryout camps and was the last man cut. maybe you could explain the process to me. every guy on our high school team that never played, started at the D3 level. but i'm sure you have more experience that i do.

What a freaking liar you are-small D1 and you went to 2 NBA try outs? I think not-esp. for this small area everyone would have heard about it-nice try idiot.

well, it was a while ago and not from here. let's just say it was from a larger area and the talent was on a higher level. does that answer your question???

Are there any other AAU programs NOT run by Lindsey? Thanks...

There are lots of AAU teams in the area that are not affiliated with Rage. However, they are not programs that have tryouts and place players on teams like Tony's. Say what you want about TL, but he has placed a very good AAU program in the area that gives kids the oppty to play. My sons played for TL in the past and had a blast. My son is now on another AAU team not associated with Rage but if there was not the team he is on, I would definitely have him in the Rage program.

Ok, there is AAU basketball talk going on in several other

topics and I thought it would be best to start it's

own thread. Tryouts are this weekend correct?

Why does it seem like teams are already made

before tryouts begin? How many local teams are there, just

RAGE or does each school have a program? JC ME

BING VEST etc... To be honest I don't quite understand

the setup....

our local high school basketball season is over for the boys. many of the players will start aau activities shortly. the maine endwell coach has had his teams playing in these activities the last three years.his program has benefitted tremendously. a nice state run this year with mostly players who played in his aau program.there are many high school teams that stay intact, and there are players lured away by so called all star designations. the better players all participate someplace usually.

Guest get what you want

AAU all depends on what you want out of it. If you want your kid just to play and get better have him play with the RAGE, or their local high school teams that have an AAU program. If you want your kid to travel the country and play against top-notch competition then have him play with a national team. *NOTE: your kid must be talented enough to make this team, and even if he does, that doesn't mean he will play. A few great AAU programs within a reasonable driving area to Binghamton are:

1) Syracuse Select. (315) 288-5119

2) City Rocks (Albany) 518-527-4565 Coach Hart

3) JB Hoops @ Backcourt Hoops (Scranton) 570-558-3833 Coach Bucci

A new one only a couple years old is the Syracuse Nets. http://www.syracusenets.com The Syracuse Select is a closed shop I believe. You have to play in their winter league to play AAU for them. Scranton may be that way also. It is a little late now to join anybody.

No one with the exception of two kids maybe in Broome County could play for City Rocks. JB Hoops and Syracuse Select don't travel much more than Lindseys own two teams, and aren't much better. If people wouldn't of dropped out from Rage, Rage wouldve had some of the best teams around in the younger guys anyways(15 & under). That's why those teams are so good, is because like all of TL's players, they're basketball first guys.

Rage decided to split up the talent a couple of years ago and not have A teams or put the best together. The teams that split off did not want mediocrity

The teams that split off play weak competition and are VERY mediocre.
