Broome Jail Major Mark Smolinsky $105k/year salary MOWING THE LAWN?

What is MAJOR MARK SMOLINSKY, the man tasked with running the Broome County Jail, doing mowing the lawn on Front Street?  Smolinsky is paid $105,000 a year. Making him among the highest paid employees in Broome County government. There are countless problems at the jail, and THIS is how he is spending his time?  I took this photo yesterday. This isn't even near the jail!  It's even  beyond SUNY Broome.

What does Sheriff Dave Harder have to say for himself?  Broome County DPW should be out mowing the lawn.  What are those guys paid, $40,000 a year?  Or at many jails they have "trustees", inmates considered to be safe, mowing the lawn and doing other work activities (under supervision of a corrections officer).

One thing is for sure, Dave Harder, Under sheriff Janis and Captain Kate Newcomb couldn't run a LEMONADE STAND!

You are right.  That is a job for another county department or even an inmate.  That parcel of land you show is right next to the Mirabito gas station, it's not even adjacent to the jail.  What is Smolinsky doing?  The entire sheriff's department is very mismanaged.  Harder has become an impediment to public safety.

I saw sheriff harder himself mowing that same stretch of grass a few years ago. Probably on the same tractor.

All you tax payers should be pissed off!!!!!!   Smolinsky has been coddled ever since he started in 1990!  And allowed by Harder to come in when he wants (Says he works from home, and this has been going on LOOOOOOONNNGGGG before Covid).  And is allowed to "Double Dip", work for the U.S. Marshalls getting paid by them while on the Broome County Clock.  The taxpayers have NO IDEA what he has done and got away with during his 32 years 3 Months and 22 days of working for the Broome County Correction Division while at least 25 years of his 32 years under the close-full eye of Sheriff Dave Harder!!  You people that voted for him all these years, well you got who you voted for and all the other problems that this Bafoon has created!!  Ohhh.... and two more things!  1.) A vote for Newcomb is like a vote for a Harder.  She is a "Carbon Copy" of him!!!!  2.) I want to see at least 1  debate between Newcomb and Akshar!!

Calling him a "Tool" is being kind!!  "Tool" was coddled by the administration since he started back May 1st, 1990!  And with his track recorded should of been fired many times in his early career.  Which others were for less.  Not to mention, he lied about his address when he was hired and lived in another county.  But he is gone now, laughing now for what he got away with.  You can thank Harder for all of this and a lot of the costly, corrupted stuff that went on there at the B.C.J.

 He was also showing up to funerals for local lawyers who passed away while on the clock

But very very rarely did he go to fellow officers funerals.  They were just subordinates to him!
