The Republican chairman Benji Federman and Mayor Jared Kraham deserve the blame.  Between them they don't have much experience. Ten years ago when the Broome Democrats took a thumping on Election Day, there were calls to removed Democratic Chairman Jim Testani.  It nearly came to a head at the annual Broome Democratic Committee Holiday dinner.

The Broome GOP needs to take serious look at Federman's leadership and question if he's the right person to have at the helm going into 2024, which is the biggest election year of the cycle.

Will any genuinely serious look be taken? What bona fide alternatives, if any, will be considered?

Color me doubtful. These “leaders” bank on the rank and file’s amnesia.

Same old end to the same old Binghamton story.

How much blame should we assign Solak for his constant BS attacks on the GOP? If Solak sticked to filing frivolous lawsuits against companies and municipalities he’d have less time to help the Democrats! Oh John you poor old bastard. Those libs and progressives are cheering you on. Here’s to John! Let’s focus on getting a street named after Trump and calling in everyday to Bob Joseph!

We’re sick of the Bucci/David disciples. Bunch of clowns. Get some young and fresh voices and candidates who don’t associate with losers like Bucci and David and think for themselves and maybe we will get behind them. People like David and Bucci barely worked a day in their lives or road coattails.

That clique only wants to be seen at the Dicks Open, Parade Day, the barstools at The Beef, Remliks, Cortese, etc.

Rich David is a slime ball nobody bum and his failed state senate campaign should have woken up the Republicans locally but didn’t.

Demographics in this area are changing and and so are voting trends. Time to accept that and adapt. The holdovers from the “Libous Machine” who used to vote these candidates in by an landslide are either dead or moved to Florida.

WTF? So we all need to embrace PLOT, ANTIFA, and BLM as our new leaders?

Am I missing something here?

Yes you are.  None of those groups should be embraced. They should have been exposed and fought by those best positioned to do so, but that didn’t happen.

Those purportedly leading the local GOP knew of the PLOT threat in the City of Bingamton , and had the last clear chance to stop it, but were too busy with other things.

Rich David has already been promised a 2024 GOP candidacy. It’s one reason he felt no oblgation to help 2023 GOP City Council candidates, and help his successor as mayor avoid being saddled with an all Dem City Council.

Such an entitlement based operational method - now a conclusively proven abysmal and appalling failure - will yield the same abysmal and appalling results in 2024.

Given the party is on the verge of being shut out from City Council, and City Court, should party leadership’s judgment be questioned, or is that not allowed?

Seems to me what we Tolerate from Public Officials is what any Community deserves.

This is what they wanted, this is what they got.

Same old end to the same old Binghamton story.

But for the treachery of the criminal Libous machine, its willing tools, and witless dupes, many good things would have happened for Binghamton; many bad things would not.
