Guest wonderer
Just curious if a picture of a noose (specifically the one be used as an avatar)bothers you? Why or why not......
Guest Guest
Yes bothers me. Because many years ago had a relative committ suicide by hanging themself and was found by young child.
Jon
With so many other images to choose from, why a noose? At a gut level a noose image is bound to disturb some readers. Would its user have some distasteful message to convey? About what? ... themselves? ... or about life as they see it? Would that message be worth offending some others with it every time they post? Guy Guestinger
If a noose bothers you then a cross should bother you as well, because the KKK burned crosses, right? The noose is symbolic of the hypersensitivity all Americans suffer these days. If we're not "sensitive" to the feelings of others, then we're callous. I don't believe it. There are people in the world who are filled with hate, and there always will be. But once we start restricting our freedom of speech and expression, then we will be reduced to absolute nothingness. Guest Guest
Nope doesn't bother me at all what does bother me is the fact that you think because it bothers you we should do something about it. As my mother used to say to me before I got to be a young man GROW UP!!!!!!!
Guest Guest
Just curious if a picture of a noose (specifically the one be used as an avatar)bothers you? Why or why not...... Hell no. It needs to be brought back. With a VENGANCE! Hang one in public and you will quickly find those who come to their senses and want to live, or those who don not deserve to walk the earth. wrapyouincold
Who has this avatar you speak of? I want to check their profile so I can make a judgement. Thats what this board is all about anyway....judging anything and everything.

All points well taken and personally it wouldn't particularly bother me. I'd just wonder what its user is trying to convey with it.

Cat's Eye
I have to say the noose makes me think "suicide", not Wild West or KKK. I relate it to a present day use. I think it's depressing and the owner of the avatar might have done it for shock value or a display of inner sadness.
wrapyouincold
I think the whole avatar thing is going a tad overboard..... I have so far seen a cats eye avatar= scary...change it Austrilia avatar= makes me think of Steve Irwin...change it A golden Chalice= Jesus...change it. Billy the Kid avatar= cowboys scare me....change it. A pair of pugs= overpriced puppies....change it. Get the point. No......I didn't think so. (More so than the scary face avatar of yours) Also, mousers avatar scares me. I'm afraid of mice. I'm afraid she'll pop out of the screen and bite me! Whenever I see that avatar I jump onto a table! Aaaaaagggghhh! I'm thinking of registering and getting a cat avatar to chase that mouse around!
