what happened to the AllStar soccer trip to Europe? I heard it didnt get renewed because Shane embarrassed all of Section IV when we went too far with a couple of the "ladies" last year during a Coaches Dinner that included erotic dancers? Either that or his ball and chain doesnt trust him out of her sight so hes not allowed to go and no one else wants to assume the risk and liability of all those teenagers having sex and partying.

Get a life, they are going to Italy this year stupid. No one wants to hear your BS again.

I dont know why it surprises me that he lost the All Star Trip for the players here in Section 4. Im not surprised by his self-obsessed and reckless behavior that has been and still is a dominant trait in all of his on and off sideline behaviors. But I am surprised that someone may finally have stepped in and held him accountable.Too bad they didnt just fire him from the trip, rather than cancel Section 4 taking it away from the players completely. To date, the only organization that has doled out a recprocussion was NYSEG when they fired him for sleeping with the bosses barely legal daughter and holding him accountable for being dumb enough to have his laptop laden with pornography and stashes of nude pictures sent by stupid women and his cellphone full of sext messages and images. He learned nothing from this and Id guarantee that if anyone had the guts to hack into it theyd find current activity resonating with the same activity now that caused his firing then. Id be horrified if I discovered photos of any of the female players he trains are on his laptop--even if clothed--but Id bet that they are there. For the last 7 or 8 years and continuing now he has found "dealers" to pay for his illicit and innappropriate sexual addiction (NYSEG, Fusion, Empire Soccer Club, Chenango Forks HS, NYSWYSA, BCC, Jetaime Hair....) all giving him the funds to pay for his inappropriate drunken and borderline illegal sex life away from home. This continues with BCC paying for his trip to Baltimore just a few weeks ago and the women that he begged to spend the nights with him in his room. Id like to say it will all catch up with him someday, maybe in the form of an STD, but nice to hear that possibly it is catching up in the form of the cancellation of his beloved All Star Trip. The ideal will be his elimination from youth sports all together.

Seriously, there is NO credibility to someone who doesn't post their name. Either state your name or stop posting. FYI, slander is illegal...

I heard Fusion is folding next year, is that true?

Wouldnt common sence tell you this probably isnt true? If they were do you really think they would let the word out? It is inevitable that Empire will eventually swallow up the southern tier and in my opinion it will be the best thing that ever happened but I assure you the teams and coaches are going no where. If your thinking Vestal FC will replace Fusion Im sure the embarassment the Strykers will suffer in the Thruway cup this year should change alot of minds.

Aragon was a great player, but very overrated. His dad was a local high school coach and heavily involed with ODP and Empire State gams. His dad and gave him alot of publicity, exposure outside of NYS and that was a huge reason he got so many accolades.

Sadly the next big thing to replace Fusion is being brought to you by the same people that ran...you guessed it Fusion. This thing is absolutely pitiful, Fusion took the place of FC Broome and ran the BC United club into the ground. 10 years ago BC United had multiple teams at almost every age group, they had solid club and premier teams co-existing at the same time. Fusion has had limited success but the cost of it has been the decimation of local soccer.

I would fully support United FC if it was a new idea and a good idea but its not. They approached Vestal to se if they could convince them to merge clubs and Vestal smartly said no thanks. Vestal is hands down the largest club around and yes it will no doubt lose a few teams to the new club but not all teams will. The Vestal club will remain solid, it didn't need the debt of Fusion or the BC United complex. This was the right choice for the club. That doesn't even factor in all the faults in the new club that can easily be pointed out.

First, any club that lets Shane Cook into leadership will be facing lots of controversy like it or not. The guy has burned too many bridges and angered too many others to not have it turn out that way. Look at the number of players who have spurned BCC to attend other community colleges all to avoid playing for him and it should say enough. He had to convert a field player to goal last year because the top three goalies at local schools who were playing NJCAA refused to deal with him. Hell Paul Marco fired him as girls side head of Fusion and then gave the whole girls side to Sarah, who didn't want to be in charge so she gave it back to Shane. That much disfunction screams stay away.

Second just look at BC United as i pointed out started out the biggest club in the area and has fallen to pieces under the management of the same people who want to be in charge with the new club. If you run something into the ground, its not proof you have the "new idea" that will save local soccer. It means you ran a successful group into the ground and another group turned down your plea for being rescued. Your idea is one that has been floated for years, get all players in one big club and sort them from there. Its not going to work because the whole idea of keeping kids in localized groups was the social aspect of them wanting to be with schoolmates. Before the age of 12 kids want to play more with friends and people they are comfortable with. Its not about playing at the highest level for 90% of athletes at that age.

Third is the direct tie in with the Footskills Academy run by Chris Riley. I think the Academy is a great thing for kids that want to go to the next level. Getting an extra hour of high quality work a week is awesome for developing soccer players, and is well worth it for everyone that can afford it. However mandating that all players in the new club attend it is bad news. On top of club costs now you will have to shell out another $300 to train any extra day each week at the dome? Sorry but in this economy not every parent will be able to afford that so you've priced kids out of the club, the same that Fusion did already. With Lockheed losing contracts, local schools cutting hundreds more employees, taxes getting jacked up to max levels and fuel costs going through the roof can we really think there is that much extra disposable income to say if you want in the club you have to do this? Please don't think anything I said is a bad thing about the Academy i think that group is doing great work, but they realize not every kid can afford it they are there for the ones who can.

Also what does that say about the club coaches themselves? If i am joining a club and paying for top level training the better not tell me they need an outside trainer to work with players on footskills. They better have figured out how to coach that themselves before being top level coaches. I have no idea why people would have faith in coaches who apparently don't have faith in themselves to develop the clubs training system themselves.

The final nail in the coffin for me is the obvious set up of how all this has come together and where it is all centered, the GBSC. We all deal with the dome out of necessity its or only space for soccer year round in this climate and its too bad its run so poorly. The temps in there are awful and should never be this bad. I have attended games in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Dome for years and never is it that cold in there. Its purely bad management to let things get so bad here. The schedule juggling at the dome is another travesty. Its sad that you have to check the schedule 2-3 times a week to make sure your games aren't changed without them ever even telling you. If you change a teams schedule after its released, its common sense to call them and inform them of the change, not hope they look at the schedule and realize the switch.

This poster hit the nail on the head.

The last thing this area needs is a "new and improved" soccer club. There is nothing new here, it's the same coaches doing the same thing. United FC is being run by dads who think they know better than anyone else how to play and coach soccer. What really is the cherry on the sundae is that these dads really think that Shane Cook is the savior of soccer in the southern tier. If he were as good as they/he thinks he is, then why isn't he coaching at a higher level than he is?

Soccer in this region will never be taken seriously when dads run around creating clubs like United FC.

ok. sorry mom. You know best. The current setup has been such a huge success, let's leave it like it is. This way your daughter doesn't get cut when the pool of players gets bigger.

I'll jump in because after reading the posts, even I have to ask: how is the pool going to get bigger? There are X number of players in the region, with the numbers steadily decreasing. Why? Because people are not staying in the region. Just look at the enrollment numbers for the various school districts. So, how is creating yet another soccer club going to increase the pool of players? There are so many clubs in the region, where are these new players going to come from?

Next, what pool are you talking about? And, by the way, I'm not worried about my sons because they have long aged out of the local soccer programs, so forget trying to insult me about my kids getting cut.

Moving on, the politics behind the creation of United FC are so twisted, convoluted, ego-driven and self-indulgent that it should embarrass anyone involved.

Last, this region will never come close to producing the programs established in other places in the state. Why? Two big reasons: population size and lack of qualified professional soccer coaches--there's BU and little else, the closest PROFESSIONAL college coaches are in Elmira and Oneonta.

Club soccer has been a success in this region, there is no doubt, but it's club soccer which is great for 90% of the players. For the remaining 10%, the Fusion program has been a success for many, but not every player in this region is DI, DII or DIII material and parents and coaches need to be more realistic about his or her players skills. But, the idea that a new club organization will solve all the problems is being unrealistic at best.

I couldn't disagree with you more Tom.

BC United is the most dysfunctional club ever. Especially the premier side. Just getting rid of all the politics and beuracracy of the BC United board is worth it for soccer in this area. Yes, there are not a lot of qualified coaches in this area, I will agree with you there. But what does that have to do with anything. It is what it is. However of all people, you are the last guy in the world that should be complaining about coaches. You are one of the worst ever. I cringe when I see you run practices. Your players have spent more time standing in lines then any coach I have ever seen. I've seen you waste half a practice trying to explain drills to kids. You are a phony with a sweatsuit on pretending to be an elite coach.

As far as the Riley academy, it is included in the price. Nobody has to pay for it. Your facts as always are skewed to cut down the people that you are intimidated by.

This neew club is long overdue, and the pretenders in this area are very jealous of it. I expect to be reading a lot of garbage from the area's soccer moms and dads that don't know squat about premier soccer. I also expect to read many more lucid rants from you Tom.

Well, the ones bringing United FC are not the ones who have run BC United into the ground. Different set of people.

But, I fail to see how Fusion has decimated the local soccer clubs. How did Fusion do that? From my experience, players who were cut from Fusion, still played soccer. Moreover, why would you want to keep the talented players at the club level? Buffalo, Rochester and other cities in New York have these elite programs, and they are accepted, but they aren't here. why?

the premier side of BC United is the only thing this is known. People do not get excited about club soccer and that is the different between here and Rochester/Buffalo, Albany and Syracuse

Going after Fusion and trying to fix it is a mistake. How about trying to fix BC United? Not one of the new board members of United FC was on the board of BC United, or tried to run for office and even came to board meetings. yet, somehow they know how to run such an organization. How could they when they weren't even involved at the board level or tried to help it by running for office.

I can see great things being accomplished by United FC

Quit your crying Victor, you angry gnome! How will this new club ever survive without your guidance?

I'm not Victor, and are you an adult? Angry gnome--what next, insults at my mother? You'll fit in just fine on the new board. But, I'm not Victor.

Then please state your name. Surely someone as knowledgable as you would be a great asset to this new soccer club. They could really use your expertise.

No, thats right, you are a coward and know nothing about soccer, and prefer to just sit in the backround with anonyminity and just complain about everything.

Thanks for nothing.

Sincerely,

Your responses are exactly why parents like me do not get involved. Why would anyone want to be involved with people who refuse to listen to reason, insult others when they disagree, and can't spell better than a fifth grader?

Her daughter wont get cut, if shes like anyother teenage girl soccer player Shane Cook will try to sleep with her.Thats the way he plays. First it was soccer moms, now its soccer players. Although he does wait till they are of legal age, or so he thinks they are of legal age.

Moms, watch out.I certainly would never ever trust my daughter alone with him.
